Finely engraved of jade, the daiklaves are obviously meant to act as a pair. The baneclaw is an odd one, having only one prong and longer than usual. It's obviously meant to act in a more defensive manner, hence the material its made of. The flat of the blade is makred with the old realm character for "War", and the hilt of the baneclaw similarly reads "Peace". Volim, of course, has no clue what the markings signify, and thinks they look rather ugly.

The weapons were procured from a young dynast who needed some discrete business done while in great forks for decidedly unofficial business. The man was somewhat reluctant to meet Volim's fee once the job was said and done, so Volim decided to present him with ample evidence of his activities in Great Forks, and upped his price only -slightly-. Turns out the artifacts were the only things of any sort of material value after a few nights in great forks, so Volim was left with a fine set of jade weapons, a newfound distrust for the dragon-blooded, and a strong sense of wonder as to how that man was not destined to be born into House Cynis.
