Intimacies: Taryr Mercenary Contingent:
Founded and funded by a horse trader, Azil Taryr, the Taryr mercenary brigade started as a side venture to promote the prestige of Azil's breeding operations, however, over time, the Contingent has become his main source of income. While Azil knew that he was fortunate to sire a Dragon-Blood to lead the force (and, indeed, Uranhai's exaltation was the deciding factor that let him go ahead with the venture), he had never expected to have someone take so easily to war. The contingent is named precisely so a large chunk of the glory goes to the elder Taryr and his other operations, even going to far as to mandating that his daughter refer to herself by her family name. Uranhai's loyalty to the group, however, is less motivated out of a gain of finance and prestige, but out of a sense of loyalty and duty, and a strong rapport with her fighters. The core group of fighters are Marukani, but there are recruits from all places; the common uniting factor is that all of them are skilled with a horse and bow, providing an excellent, well-trained and financed mobile skirmish unit.
Kyzyl
It's ironic that, in a mercenary brigade concievedto promote the virtues of a single horse breeder, that the commander wouldn't ride one of his horses. Kyzyl, named by Uranhai herself, was captured at a young age in an honorable duel with a fewllow young ttrained Marukani archer: the same duel, in fact, where Uranhai first revealed her gift of the dragon. The young foal was taken as part of the wager, and raised by Uranhai mostly away from her father. He grew up to be one of the swiftest horses in the land, with a fiery red mane and a decent amount of intelligence for a non-magical horse. While he's not the biggest horses in the land, he's served his master faithfully, even after taking a few cuts from the flux of anima before Uranhai perfected her charms.
