Evander Cristos was born into the great legacy of his family. The Cristos family had, for many years ruled as stewards of the the religious nation of Ashenfall, a prominent part of the Hundred Kingdoms region. That stewardship had been entrusted to them by the godly founders of the nation and for years the Cristos family kept to the old ways, maintaining tradition even in the face of pressure in the for of Realm envoys. Evander, Lander's eldest child, spent his entire life preparing to assume that legacy. He worked hard to improve his body, mind, and soul to make ready for his task. He studied all manner of thelogy and lore, mastered the use of the spear, and became quite adept in the art of mysticism. All the while, he was oblivious to the baleful glare of his god-blooded half-brother Xander.

Xander was everything his brother was not. Murderous, unscrupulous, ruthless. A perfect example of this was when he took out Evander's left eye in a sparring match when they were both teens in order to impress his father. Instead he was punished by the lash and humiliated before all in Ashenfall by being bound in the stocks for a week. It was this that led to Evander's current predicament.

After years of living in his elder brother's shadow, even as Evander ascended to the title of Prince, Xander saw his opportunity. Late one night in a palace coup backed by Imperial soldiers and Immaculate monks, the Cristos legacy was hijacked. As the soldiers and monks slaughtered the many priestly palace staff and purged the disloyal elements, Xander and Evander dueled within Evander's bedchambers. Even as he incapacitated his brother by removing his right eye, Evander saw that he had no choice but to flee, and flee he did.

After that Evander, realizing that until he could find a way to rally the people behind him and the weapons to combat Xander and his bullyboys, became a Scavenger Lord. He used his intimate knowledge of gods and Riverlands lore to explore and seek treasure. He had a knack for having accurate hunches. It was through this travel that he inadvertantly performed the 5 trials necessary to achieve sorcery, and as he surpassed the last trial, he was touched with the divine essence of the Solar Exaltation. Now, armed with some useful artifacts and his sorcery, he knows it's only a matter of time before his rematch with Xander.

As of the beginning of the story, Evander is not part of the circle...
