Observing Life's Pulse

Cost: 3 motes
Type: Simple
Duration: instant
Min. Temperance: 2
Min. Essence: 2
Prereqs: Aura-reading Technique

A refinement of Aura-reading technique, this charm allows a ghost to look more carefully at the flows of essence within a living being, measuring their health and well-being with just a glance. The ghost rolls perception + Medicine, while observing the target, with a difficulty of the Target's essence rating: The more power that resides within a being, the more complex the flows of essence and the harder they are to comprehend. One success will tell the ghost of the general health of the target: How badly hurt they are, if they are suffering from disease or some other debilitating condition. 3 successes will give more information about the subject: the type of damage suffered, what the nature of the debilitating condition is. Five successes will precisely identify what is wrong, although it will not suggest any possible cure: But this level of success can even perceive the flows of essence within a newly conceived child, giving hints as to the child's nature: It is through this charm that an ancestor might tell his descendants of the half-blood daughter they carry, or of the malformed heir they had best deal with.

fuelling Life's drive

Cost: 10 motes, 1 willpower
Type: Simple
Duration: Instant
Min. Temperance: 4
Min. Essence: 4
Prereqs: Feeding Life's Fountain

Just as the dead can manipulate the forces of life from the living, so too can a ghost transfer the very drive to exist. By touching the subject and activating this charm, the ghost may transfer willpower to or from himself and the subject. The ghost rolls his temperance: Each success indicates a point of willpower that can be given or taken from the subject: if the ghost is stealing, he gains 1 willpower for every 2 willpower stolen: If he is giving, he loses 2 willpower for every point he chooses to give. This is a costly charm, but of great use when your living descendants are in a time of hardship.
