The three classes

Exalted

Exalted pieces are minor artifacts onto themselves, typically they are made of Jade but rarely game-pieces of another Magic Material find their way into circulation. In game terms they are the most powerful thing you can bring to the board but a dependency on these powerful playing pieces is the mark of an inexperienced player.

Hero

Hero pieces are created from exotic materials such as pearl or ironwood, thaumaturgy is used to give them minor magical properies that rarely manifest more than once a game.

Mortal

Mortal playing pieces are wood carvings of various quality, they represent the common soldier and for the purposes of Gateway Abridged have no special rules.
