There are times when the Terrestrial Exalted find the implications of a target’s argument inconvenient or fundamentally hostile to their cause. This charm allows them to ignore the argument by finding a distraction in the immediate vicinity.

The Dragon-Blooded rolls a number of dice equal to her linguistics + maniuplation at difficulty of the target’s essence. A sufficent number of successes on this roll provides the Terrestrial with a perfect mental dodge. The side effect of this charm however is that the Dragon-Blooded is considered innactive for the purposes of social combat for at least an entire action.

A Larceny version of this charm exists called "Words Lost in the Depths" - it's prerequisites are identical save that it requires Larceny 5, Window-in-the-Door Technique and Waters of Honesty Method. Words Lost in the Depths differs in that the Exalt rolls manipulation + larceny.

Storytellers should however note with either charm that the Dragon-Blooded may well commit a social faux-pas while distracted- inspecting weapons, counting cards or even attempting to undress the other party be creative but not openly destructive. This isn't an Abyssal charm afterall...
