While they are aware that he is one of the feared Solars, they also know and appreciate that he guides and keeps them safe against many odds they could not already brave.
K'halad'a nal D'halad
Civilization in the Wasteland
The translation of their strange name is "The Fire That Is Not Fire". These mortals have mastered many skills by way of crafting and use of firedust, and have built a sizeable town around the base of a mountain they call the Mount of Stagnant Fire. They have long since forgotten how they came to this place, but legends among them speak of the Golden Artisans, who taught them and protected them in times of great trouble, long ago, until they dissapeared. This group of mortals are so far out of reach of the Realm that they have no need to pay tribute, and follow teachings much like those of the Cult of the Illuminated.
