The 12 Deadly Fists system is unique in that it was developed by a mortal. His name has been lost to time, for the use of his terrestrial masters in the days of the shogunate. He based it of off his belief that there were twelve natural positions for the fist and body in a combat situation. It concentrates on defense by redirection of force and anticipation of an opponents moves.


He was rewarded for his ingenuity by his Master with a failed assassination attempt. He fled using the skills he had mastered to find his freedom. Several years later the Dragon Blood caught up with his former slave, and in an unlikely turn of events the master was killed by the slaves invention and mastery of essence. Since then, the Art has been handed down from master to student, as it has been since prior to the Conatgion, when the original master passed it down to his student.

Silver Arms Defense</b>

Description: This charm fills the practitioners arms with Essence allowing the martial artist to parry melee attacks with an inhuman accuracy. In game terms this grants a bonus equal to the martial artist's permananent Essence to parry melee attacks, and allows the Artist to parry lethal barehanded.

Description: The Martial Artist draws damaging essence into his fists, giving him a supernatural awareness of their position's relative to himself and his opponent and/or opponents bodies. In game terms the martial artist gains a damage bonus equal to his permanenet Essence to his martial arts attacks.

Description: The Martial Artist swings his arms outward, and twists his waist in a rhythm that draws power from his entire form and Essence in the attempt to fling his opponent from him. In game terms the martial artist makes an unarmed martial arts attack in which all extra successes are doubled, but instead of damage extra successes are counted as yards of knockback. The opponent is given a reflexive essence+athletics(as the attack seeks to push the opponents essence as well as his body)and for every success they are knocked back one yard less. If the opponent hits something before the distance is spent, they take damage equal to if they had fallen that distance.

Speed of Stillness</b>

Description: Speed of Stillness allows the martial artist to sidestep by only moving a small portion of his body, adding up to his Dexterity to the difficulty to hit the martial artist for one attack.

Description: The martial artist draws essence into his arms with a circular motion spiraling through himself and Creation, awakening a defensive awareness that is both within and without. For the duration of the charm the martial artist may parry lethal barehanded. Also add his permanent Essence to all attempts to Defend against him. Finally if the Exalt takes a full dodge, the full dodge never results in the martial artist moving from where he is standing

Golden Arms Defense</b>

Description: As the Martial Artist gains understanding of her Essence and economy of motion, she is able to capitalize on any weakness the opponent shows to her. In game terms the martial artist gains the ability to make a counter attack any time an opponent misses. This counter attack gains a bonus to damage equal to the martial artists score in Martial Arts.


Overwhelming Fist Strike</b>

Description: The Martial Artist flashes out with an insane flurry of blows that strike so quickly that it is almost indistinguishable from a single blow, and is the technique from which this art was named. In game terms the martial artist makes a martial arts attack. The damage is converted to lethal, and the base damage is doubled. Because of the "everywhere" nature of the attack, it cannot be blocked.

Description: The Martial Artist breathes in deeply and draws the essence in them and around them into their fists allowing it to explode on contact. The opponent is forced back (as with Wave Arms) on every attack for the duration of the charm. The Martial Artist must be in 12 Deadly Fist Form to use this charm.

Intercepting Fist Meditation</b>

Description: The Martial Artist moves his hands and arms in a blur of motion leaving after images that appear as if the Martial Artist had several sets of extra arms. He is granted a full parry without needing to spend actions on every round in which it is active. The Martial Artist may also parry arrows without a stunt and no added difficulty.

Description: At this level, the Martial Artist has gained an understanding of how motion can be increased in one explosive instant, and knowledge of intertwining the physical and metaphysical force. The Martial Artist can increase the power of his blows by several orders of magnitude. In game terms the Martial Artist gains the ability to do lethal damage with his martial arts attacks. He also gains his permanent Essence in bonus damage, but this is considered separate from the damage of the attack. Finally, the martial artist adds his essence to his strength for knockback purposes.

Description: The Martial Artist gains the ability to counter any attack leveled at him by speeding his percepion of time to the point that it crawls. He literally sees the world in slow motion, allowing him time not just to react but to think. In game terms the Martial Artist performs a parry on every attack that strikes, and all extra successes are used for a martial arts attack on the opponent. Also for the duration of the charm the Martial Artist adds their Essence to the difficulty to hit them.
