Character Description
I made Karalan with the thought that a "classic" Sword-and-Sorcery Sorcerer doesn't really have any magic besides the ability to summon demons (which works well for DBs as they haven't got a lot of charm space to waste on lots of spells). Which gave him room for Martial Arts, which in turn made me think it'd be hella cool to give him the daiklaives of dual prowess. But that made his commitment gross, so I downgraded demon summoning to elemental summoning since he has so little free essence. And there he is. Physically, he's based on the lightning dude from Big Trouble in Little China - blue and white silk robe in the Chinese style, hair in a queue down his back, coolie hat. His anima banner is crackling discharges of lightning, and even when he activates his anima effect his long jumps are accentuated by flashes of electricity.
As the concept says, I imagine he's a bit of a prodigal son, shirking his filial duty for as long as he's able, probably "adventuring" in backwaters of the Realm or even the Threshold. He's quite full of himself, not a terribly nice guy at all. He's not *bad* as such, but he's never ever had to make any sort of sacrifice in his life. His family (especially his grandmother - she gave him the daiklaives) is doting, but even their patience won't last long, and he'll be called home and told to shape up before too very long at all. He was a middling student, dabbling in a wide variety things he was interested in in passing (including vaguely criminal activities, partying and attempting to seduce any young thing that caught his wide-ranging eye) rather than throwing himself into any one subject. But his above-average mental faculties and raw charisma (and good breeding and wealthy family) went quite a ways and he managed not to disgrace himself, anyway.
