History

It is said that you have to crawl before you can walk, and walk before you can run.

I never was one to settle for that, which I suppose is the entire story of my life. My, where shall I begin... well, aside from the beginning, of course. Well... it figure it should begin where is begins... and that beginning is on some Dragons-forsaken Island in the Neck. My father, Daana'd rest his stupid soul, lived there, blissfully unaware of what the rest of the world had to offer. Of course, that happened to change when my mother, on what she described as a 'pleasure trip', paid the place a visit and picked out the most capable man she could see. As you can see, me and her are quite similar in... ah, tastes, I guess I could say. In any event, my father was chosen... I never did know his name.

... yes. My father was chosen, and needless to say had his tiny little world shaken by the desires of a Cynis. Of course, she wore him out completely in short order and, dissatisfied with how measly the mortal was, had the town burned... just because. What could they do?

So, back to the Blessed Isle came old bat Lincala... and turns out she'd forgotten to properly dose herself on whatever they used to keep from having children then. In short order, she found herself expecting none other than me; I was told that she raised such an immense fuss about bearing the child of some ten-minute dog of a man, and she even threatened to have me aborted.

Of course, that didn't happen; she'd resigned herself to her fate, and I came into the world kicking and screaming. Of course, being the bastard child of a well-groomed and strong-blooded Exalt didn't sit well with some, and she herself really didn't have much time for me. I saw her far less than my siblings, and I quickly learned why. Sure, I was a cute child, meek and quiet... but still, just a half-Dynast.

Exaltation

Imagine their surprise when I came into my destiny.

Nearing the end of primary, and preparing myself for what would probably be a life of housework and minor tasks, I remember quite vividly how I watched this one girl... who was Ledaal Irran, now one of my Sisters. She was only my age... and she's entered primary as an Exalt. Her heritage was undeniable... skin already a deep sky blue, and hair billowing about as she walked. She had her own entourage... obviously kids who wanted a touch of greatness from a truly great girl. I...

I was jealous. Violently jealous. I remember feeling like I was boiling inside as I watched her pass by me one day, clueless to everything but her own life. Still... that boiling. It only got worse and worse as the days passed. One day, it all just... snapped. I remember watching her pass, as I always did, and a boy behind me commented on how pretty she was.

I simply turned around and screamed as that boiling inside reached its peak, and I smashed my fist into his stomach. Now, I was easily half a foot shorther than him, and in no way a strong girl... but I felt something give, both inside me and inside him. A rush of light and sound and sensation and fury... and a spiraling torrent of... water? Water, laden with what looked like shards of glass-clear ice. The boy stumbled right into it, and was quickly torn into.

And I watched as he fell back, bleeding.

I remember looking at my hands, then at him... and laughing.

I'd made it to the other side of the impassable wall, after all.

The Present

I practically breezed through The Spiral Academy, and danced my way into the House's infamous business. From there... well, like I said, I was the sort to crawl, then run full-tilt. Fortune has been with me, though, and now I want for nothing, as do my Sisters...

Ah, my Sisters. Such a... mixed bag.

Coenn is the typical hot-hearted Fire Aspect, and doesn't even attempt to apologize for who she is. I can respect that. A terrible shame she caught that arrow in her womanly parts... aside from swinging a spear now, she's practically useless to her little branch. To me, though... she has her purposes.

Irran... my. You can't really twist Irran about, because everyone else is doing it for her. I've heard everything from tens of suitors trying to win her hand and her family's approval to whispers of trying to mold her into an Empress candidate. Madness, if you ask me. She's something special... but she's also as strong as a wet noodle when it comes to her health.

Madal... mmmn. I only put up with her because of Altana's request. If it weren't for her, I would've had that pug of a girl replaced a long time ago. There are far more capable Earth types, and almost all of them look better than her. On top of that, she bothers me about my little habit, and she's an Immaculate. Those types scare me... so many constraints... no sex? No, thank you!

And... Altana. Stupid, loyal, honest, wise Altana. She got what she deserved for believing that her brother would still care for her after he'd become an Anathema. Peh... stupid. Trusting emotions over common sense... the girl threw it all away in trying to reach that... thing, whatever he's become. She's torn this group to shreds, and I hope she has a few more horrors visited on her in the afterlife for it. Not that I'd admit that I think this to anyone else...

Personality

Glica seems, at first blush, to be a giddy and self-absorbed young lady with her mind wavering between managing Cynis matters and undressing people with her eyes. In fact, while she is a bit insatiable, she's quite sharp mentally and is known for catching small details and never forgetting them. Those that know her personally know that she's a reliable, upbeat, even doggedly fanatical friend if one does manage to befriend her... and a fearsome, vicious and downright cold-blooded monster to her enemies, burying those socially that she can't outrightly have killed or can't kill herself.

Appearance

Glica is a decidedly enchanting, very buxom young woman of apparently Western descent; a tad on the short side with long, cascading black hair that frames her slightly-tanned, pleasantly-plump face. Between a few well-groomed curls are a pair of brilliant green eyes that can show delight, hunger and anger with equal ease. Her build is somewhere between svelte and full-figured, a recent development due to her less active lifestyle. Regardless, she produces much of her apparent attractiveness through movement and speech, her body picking up the slack easily.

She tends towards fine silks the color of the seas, heavily laden down with jewelry, and built so that it's both easily donned and removed. Much of her wardrobe is also stain-resistant, through alchemic means, for... various reasons, kind and otherwise. A constant bit of wardrobe is her black lacquer 'powder case', which contains a lavishly-decorated jade straw and enough cocaine to last most mortals for weeks.

Merits and Flaws

-Sworn Brotherhood (-2 BP)

Glica is part of a Sworn Sisterhood that at one point was a perfect Terrestrial Circle, only to be broken when the Wood-Aspect of the group was slain during a Wyld Hunt. The remaining four cling to their bond, even as fate and their own lives pull them away more and more often as the years pass.

-Selective Conception (-1 BP)

If Glica doesn't want children (which she presently doesn't) then she simply won't have any. Considering how active she is, this is something of a benefit.

-Eidetic Recall (sight and sound, -2 BP)

Years of near-neurotic dedication have allowed her to never forget a thing she's seen or heard. This is used, of course, to bring back words and deeds onto people in order to twist them to her will.

-Vice (cocaine, 2 BP) and Addiction (cocaine, 1 BP)

Glica is viciously, viciously addicted to that dangerous (well, for mortals, anyway) white powder, and uses it quite regularly. There's simply no way she's going to kick the habit without massive amounts of intervention, and possibly even some degree of violence, both from her and towards her.

-Derangement (sadism, 3 BP)

No one is fully sure how she came to this point of mental imbalance, but Glica can and will unleash shocking amounts of cruelty on people (usually slaves and commonfolk, but she's been known to do nasty things to potential suitors) with little warning. She can swallow down this at times, and her friends have rarely seen this side of her. But she's a beast during 'work', and she's had to pay for the death of a few slaves. One particularly cruel story is that she purchased a slave simply to test out her new Plasma Tongue Repeater on him. Unfortunately for the slave, he survived, minus his arms.

Expanded Backgrounds

Artifact ●●●

She's not too terribly stuck on the concept of owning Artifacts, but she has a set of bracers and a breastplate in the event of her needing to defend herself, and one of those handy cleansing collars for when there's little time to freshen up betweewn trysts. Her prized possession, however, is a Plasma Tongue Repeater she affectionately refers to as The Last Argument of Queens and likes to use. Alot. There are all sorts of tales about her and that weapon...

Backing (Cynis Slave Trade) ●●

She's made her fortune peddling slaves, even with as limited backing in the sub-organization as she has. Perhaps it's all those 'business meetings' of hers.

Breeding ●●

One would assume that someone as... touched as her would have much stronger (and potentially inbred) blood, but she's far less pure than one would expect.

Connections (House Cynis) ●● and Connections (The Guild) ●●

She makes regular use of the connections she's made within her own house, as well as The Guild, to maintain her riches and status, as well as occasionally bring hell to the doorstep of those she sees as nuisances and competitors. Incidentally, The Guild is also her source for the mounds of cocaine she uses, and they happily provide her all she needs, so long as she helps them out in return.

Manse ●●

While she's allowed to a fair number of manses, she only has one hearthstone, a Prism of Focused Passion. A wonderful little toy to use when she needs to tweak someone's emotions juuuust a little.

Reputation ●●

Within the Houses, especially Cynis, Glica is known as a very capable young lady when it comes to her trade... and she's also a notorious sexual rite of passage, for anyone even remotely affiliated with Cynis' dealings with slaves. Her nastier habits have been downplayed some, but...

Resources ●●●●●

Glica is a shrewd, shrewd manager, and has managed to twist, squirm and fight her way into the lap of financial luxury. She owns her own lavish estate, which is where the Gang meets for their nigh-ritual meal together, and has a extensive amount of disposable income at her fingertips... and she's not afraid to use it to get what she wants, when she wants it.

'Will The Circle Be Unbroken?': Glica and the Gang of Four

Glica's potential to completely break the circle is the highest out of all the Gang, and for obvious reasons. While, in the beginning and even now, she's fiercely loyal to the others (in varying degrees) and will readily (if grudgingly) stick up for them, she's become more self-absorbed, violent and generally uncaring than ever. She can see her sworn sisters as best friends and mere pawns in the space of five minutes, given the proper circumstances... and she outrightly loathes Madal, but holds her tongue if only to honor the memory of Altana, who was something of a sister for the Immaculate. Her jealousy towards Irran, and her general condescending pity towards Coenn are also starting to peek through her usual calm demeanor from time to time.

In a way, it's not so much a matter of 'if' as it is 'when'.
