A wide heavy chisel used to open holes in thinner ice for fishing. One side is edged, so that it can double as a blade.
Pencase Crossbow

Appearance:
A haggard, rangy man. He had the Raven tattooed crudely to his cheek, claiming that he had lost a bet. Really, it distorts his appearance and is something he would never have countenanced before. He also removed the ring finger of his left hand with his chisel, a distinctive scar, and a severance of his symbolic ties to his life, hearth and dead wife. The better to disappear (I'm kind of working with the idea of symbolic tracking magic - so he was cutting his ties to the past in such a way that he would be harder to find - not sure if Exalted actually works like that. Of course it could be northern legends, or idiosyncrasies of the Northern demigods involved. Or a dream told him to and he was desperate).
He dresses in the seal skins of an ice-sea fisherman, which is what he claims to have been.
Story:
Fish is a relative newcomer to the Scale, and at 36 is one of the older people to make it through the Once Dead training. Of course, he had both help and motivation.
He joined the crew of the iceship Ice Runner (or something else if you think it should be more impressively named) as a boy. A few years later he became its first mate after the captain and some of the officers died in an accident out on the ice. The ship became rather heavily involved in smuggling soon after. He never rose to captain, instead using his share of the profits to retire and start his own businesses. He became the go to fence of the ship, and profited from a number of other ventures aside.
Eventually, of course, he double crossed them. It made him a lot of money, and he was sure that the other set of pirates he had pointed in their direction would kill them, or at least most of them. Unfortunately it hadn't worked out like that. Something had been traveling with them at the time, he had no idea what, just an unbelievable account arriving with the only warning he was going to get to get out of town, fast, before his old captain made it back to Iron Falls.
He disappeared by joining the Once Dead. Supposedly the ritual death and rebirth would symbolically hide him from any magics the Runner might be able to afford. Hopefully. If they found him now, he would have to abandon everything and flee Haslanti. As it was, he had had to burn his buisness, dangerous with some of his clients. He had pulled his right hand man along with him, and left the rest of the organization to be killed with a false story of where he had gone. He started again in Icehome, but business was hampered by having to keep his name out of the street.
