Greenstar

Brother to Lodestar from the North, Greenstar was one of at least four sentient automatons that were created in the dim recesses of the First Age to assist the Solar Exalted in their travels toward the edge of Creation. Specifically, Greenstar was designed to be the perfect guide and assistant to to travels in the East -- from simply dense forests, to locations where the forest floor falls away entirely. Much like his dormant Brother, Greenstar is a hybrid of human and insect, though he is a Spider-Centaur rather than being half-Scorpion. However, he shares Lodestars androgous beauty and quiet calm and courteous demeanor. Unlike his Brother, however, Greenstar has been awake for a little over two-hundred years.

Activated for a brief time by a Solar Exalted from the East who fled into the Jungle to escape the Wyld Hunt, he managed to hide his master from the forces of the Dragon-Blooded for some time, until the Hunters eventually found him. Shocked and off-center by the appearance of his masters enemies, who appeared to be other Exalted, Greenstar was even more surprised when -- amidst his protest -- the Dragon-Blooded tried to kill him as well, apparently for his aid to the Solar they had killed. Somehow, however, he managed to escape from the Wyld Hunt -- they tried to track him for a small time, but gave up the trail before very long. Ever since then, Greenstar has tried his best to stay active, learning more of affairs in the East and what has occured over the past centuries of his sleep. While he was never designed as an investigator, he has never the less managed to catalog a good amount of detail on various subjects in this amount of time.

While he has spent his 'free time' pursuing this new hobby, he has not forgotten his ultimate loyalties. Were any of the newly emergent Solars to find themselves anywhere near Greenstars current location, they would find themselves with a helpful and knowledable guide for the duration of their stay in the East. Unlike Lodestar, he's not nearly as mindlessly servile -- 200 years of independent existance and knowledge of the current situation has given him a good bit of an independent streak. In addition, if mistreated he is well aware that the Solar Exalted in this age are really in no position to cause him any more than a scattered and personal difficulty. He will still serve, and will not let one bad apple spoil the entire bunch, but he is well-aware of his options.

If he is befriended, however, he has the potential to be very useful -- he is familiar with a number of ruins and tombs throughout the South, and could lead Solars to them. Also, once learning of the Wyld Hunt he realized the unique needs of the new age, and has spent the last two centuries preparing extensive hideouts and defensive positions for the safety of his masters. He has not had the chance to test these out, yet, but would gladly offer them to any group of desperate Solar Exalted whom he encountered. The exact nature of these hideaways are up to the Storyteller, but no doubt include numerous defenses (active and passive; Greenstar no longer has any loyalty to 'the Usurpers'), supplies and even the odd Artifact that he's uncovered, and other such things.
