Coik/Minease
Cathak Minease is a large man, standing 6' 3" tall and weighing in at over 180 pounds, mostly the muscle of a career soldier, before any of his gear. His skin and hair have taken on the ruddy red tone of Fire aspect, but his eyes are still the light grey he was born with. His jade armor and daiklave are never far from his side, and he maintains them with the same dedication with which one might look after a lover.
Minease was originally an outcaste. His great-grandfather had been born from a fling with a Dynast, but he was the first of his family to be blessed by the Dragons. Since his family was no one of any importance, he was quickly handed over to the Splendid and Just Arbiters of Purpose. When it was his turn to choose, Minease took the coin and began his life at Pasiap's Stair.
While his time there was not of any particular note, Minease learned his lessions well and became an excellent soldier. Following his graduation at the Feast of Spears in RY 764, he was adopted into House Cathak and sent to bolster the Realm's garrison at Thorns. Two years later (and eight months before the Mast of Winters overran the city), his superiors ordered his squad to assist a Wyld Hunt being led by one Tepet Alita. It was successful, and Minease returned to the Blessed Isle for a sabbatical as reward for a job well done. Following Thorns' destruction, Minease drifted until by chance he ran into Alita again in Arjuf. Having nothing better to do, he decided to follow her to Varang to see what was causing the mortals of the area so much trouble that they couldn't defend their trade caravans any more.
Minease is generally gruff and terse in his speech. His lack of polish in social matters is often made apparent, aggravated by the fact that he sees them as worthless. If there are problems, to his thinking, one should go out and fix them, not waste time flapping lips about them. As such, he has a tendency to let Alita do all the talking that needs to be done, while finding some place to lounge and take advantage of any alcohol that the host has in the mean time.
