Nechara Redoubt - The most remote Redoubt, Nechara is a small outpost, important mostly for its proximity to many opf the smaller Southeastern City States. Assignment to Nechara is seen as either an opportunity or a punishment, depending on the officer's demeanor - it is certainly true that it is not considered a plum posting by the Adjutant General, however. Nechara Redoubt normally posts one field force worth of troops, mostly foriegn legion and is less well equipped than most redoubts.

Five City League -

The Council of Five - The nominal ruling body of the five cities league. (in actuallity, they generally only keep the cities from open conflict, and try to present a united face to outsiders. It consists of five members. Shining Emerald, the oldest council member, is an Outcaste Dragonblooded from Aryvyas, widely respected for her wisdom, and restraint (The more so for being a fire aspect). Humble Mouse is the mortal respresentative from Matetha, and the Lord Marshall's representative to the council. A small, nervous man, he rarely participates, except to vote as his lord commands. The third member of the council is the weasely merchant prince Namram Kor, who is the wealthiest man in the League, and is widely belived to be the pocket of the guild. He is always in a hurry, when attending, hoping to return to his mansion as soon as possible. The fourth member of the Council is General Detron, commander of the forces that remain in Darangin, and the sole remaining force of order there. He is a young man burdened beyond his years, earnest, but not very practiced at the game of politics. The last member of the council and the newest, is Meribeth, a small, vibrant woman who represents the city of Cho-Huluth, and has managed to neatly win each and every election, becomging he longest seated representative from that city to the Council. Godblooded, she is older than her tender looks would make her to be, and makes up for her lack of experience with enthusiasm. She is loved by her people, and by the other council members, and puts a very good face on her city.
Cho-Huluth - A port city. Full of crime, and brown water pirates, as well as the center of most of the illegal trade goods that eventually wind up in Meresh. Still, the ships that trade with far off lands must dock at Cho-Huluth, and they keep the lines of cummication open with the outside world, as well as keeping up contact with the few allies that the Five Cities Leagu has, outside it's own borders. A rough town, but made of stone far older than anyone remembers (from the Shogunate) and the government is run by a rough democracy (Sometimes very rough) which elects leaders, but the entire populace votes on matters of import.
Matetha - The agricultural heart of the five cities, Matetha provides enough food to feed the entire region in a good year, and in times of surplus, can afford to export to far away places. The city is run by the Lord Marshall and his line, the last of whom is paranoid, ever since the Arczecki sacked his city. The city is still recovering from the Arczecki attacks, and is rebuilding. Slowly. While the people of the city were glad to see the arrival of some of the Hill People, and their horses and cattle, others among them worry for their bountiful fields. Conflict seems to be inevitable, though the lord marshall assures the populace that he has a plan in place to deal with 'traitors'.
Darangin - This city was hit hardest by the Arczecki hordes, and was burned to the ground. Now, shanty-towns and quickly thrown up shacks fill the city, with only the imperishable first age walls remaining from how the city was before. Only the bravery of the defenders of Darangin, and the fact that they supplied most of the military forces that kept the other states free keeps the Darangin a seat on the council. But for how long? Darangin, it is rumored, is soon to be removed from the League, and it's mines re-opened under the control of various other members of the League.
Meresh - The most wealthy and well off of the five cities, Meresh is home to the great Bazaar, as well as the seat of the Guild Factor for the five cities. Serves as a stopping point for Guild Caravans passing through, as well as the center of trade for the region. Ruled by the Merchant's League, an oligarchic group of merchants, and heavily influenced by the guild. Has very little raw industry of it's own, gaining it's status from it's ability to serve as the focal point for regional trade, and the skilled crafters of finished goods. Has an outpost of the Lookshy Immaculate Faith, but pays tribute to many small gods as well.
Aryvyas - This city is especially hostile towards the fair folk. Smaller than some of the others, but with important pharmaceutical and lumber resources from the East. Herds of somewhat domesticated deer roam here, as well. Walls and homes are made of wood as hard as stone, which resists fires. Runs on a clan structure and the Emerald family, a line of outcaste Dragonblooded, has a powerful voice among the Households. Frequently used as a launching point for those headed further East, and said to have the best guides in the region. Religion tends to focus on the practical, and the god of cold iron is particularly prized as a patron.
