Magic Withering Touch

Cost: Varies
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min Lore: 5
Min Essence: 3
Prereqs: Essence-Scattering Blast

With the Magic Withering Touch, an Abyssal lashes out with their own Essence, attempting to shatter an existing effect. They may spend up to the Stamina + Lore in motes, and up to their Lore in Willpower; if they equal or excedde the cost of a Charm, the effects of the Charm are instantly broken. If the charm was Reflexive or Supplemental, it may be used again immediately. If the Charm is a part of a combo, then the entire Combo must be negated, including the Willpower cost of activating the Combo in the first place. The Abyssal is not magically informed of how many motes they need to spend, and must rely on guesswork and past experience. Additionally, the target of the Magic Withering Touch must be within 5 yards of the Abyssal.

Magic Withering Touch may explicitly be in a Combo with Charms of other Abilities. Magic Withering Touch has no effect on Sorcery or Necromancy of any circle.

Essence Eating Soul

Cost: Varies
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min Lore: 5
Min Essence: 4
Prereqs: Magic Withering Touch

An Abyssal using the Essence Eating Soul presents their enemy with a cruel chance and choice; the Essence Eating Soul superficially is similar to the Magic Withering Touch. Once again, the Abyssal must spend a number of motes and Willpower equal to the activation cost of the Charm or Combo, guessing blindly. However, the effect is automatic; additionally, the Abyssal rolls their Wits + Lore, difficulty of the target's Essence. If successful, they regain the motes and Willpower spent on the originally cancelled Charm or combo; further, if the target choices to reactivate the Charm, they regenerate them again. The target of the Essence Eating Soul must be within 5 yards of the Abyssal.

Essence Eating Soul may explicitly be in a Combo with Charms of other Abilities, and has no effect on any circle of Sorcery or Necromancy.

Comments:

What, exactly, do these charms supplement? Do they require an attack that hits or does damage to take effect? What are the restrictions on their use?

These Charms were loosely based on the Charm snuffers in that lead to the Soul Fire Shaper Form of Sidereal Martial Arts fame. They're meant to supplement hand to hand actions- either attacks or parries.

Hrm. In retrospect, that doesn't really make sense... *hits the Charms with the Reflexive wand* DS

Can they be used more than once per turn? If so... that's nasty. Expensive, but nasty!
