Charm Guidelines
The Exalted of Azure once had the ability to be almost any other exalted type. One moment they burn with the light of the sun and then the next glow with the light stars. Their time in the Wyld has weakened this ability. They can still learn charms from other exalted but they are much more restricted now.
Ethereals CANNOT learn spirit charms because they do not have a shard to mimic.
Ethereals CANNOT learn Fair Folk Charms because they do not have a shard to mimic.
Ethereals CANNOT learn Lunar Knacks.
Ethereals CANNOT learn all terrestrial charms because they do not have a shard to mimic. Their power is in their blood.
Ethereals CAN learn Solar, Abyssal, Infernal, Sidereal or Lunar charms that do not require willpower to be spent.
Ethereals CAN acquire Solar, Abyssal, Infernal, Sidereal or Lunar castes.
Ethereal CAN be taught allowable charms by God’s to as long as the charm fits the other restrictions.
PERFECT charms require willpower to be spent even if the charm description does not say so.
Charm Activation Restrictions
Upon a successful Attunement the Ethereal can only activate charms that are from the primary aspects (skills, attributes, et.) of the caste the have active. They can know other charms can only activate the ones that belong to the caste they are using.
Example:
An Ethereal Exalted who is using Solar Dawn Caste can only activate charms whose minimum requirements are based in Archery, Martial Arts, Melee, Thrown or War
Combo’s
An Ethereal exalted cannot combo charms from different exalted Castes.
Example:
Joe the Ethereal Exalted can’t combo a Solar Dawn Cast charm with a Lunar Full Moon Charm. However, he can combo charms that can be used with the same caste.
When Joe the Ethereal uses a Solar Night Caste Charm he can combo an athletics charm with a dodge charm.
Even though they are restricted in what they can combo an Ethereal can combo charms that meet her restriction more cheaply than others. The cost for a Ethereal to combo charms that are legal for them to combo is half the normal cost rounded up.
Dice Cap
Ethereal Exalted's dice are caped by their limit break or their essence, which ever one is higher.
