The Three Suns Rising gathered in a mercenary dive on the outskirts of Gem to compare notes over their exploits during their year apart.

Marcus, servant of Lord Black made a business proposal.

Meeting with Lord Black, acceptance of commission to ensure that a large cargo of firedust is safely delivered from an outlying outpost 10 days travel south of Gem. Some supply caravans have been raided, going both to and from the outpost, but there is no discernable pattern to the attacks, and no survivors.

6 supply wagons form up at the main southern gates, one of which is heavily shrouded with jade threaded cloth which fails to completely muffle the curious sounds coming from within.

With their troops they set off through the desert wastes, stopping at several oases along the way to resupply with water. The oases are guarded by members of the Desert Shields, a mercenary company on retainer with the Despot.
