Solar Charger
Solar chargers are companion artifacts to Essence batteries. Like Essence batteries, they are simple to produce. However, the orichalcum used in their construction makes them somewhat more expensive--thus, larger solar chargers are built with the capacity to charge multiple batteries, reducing the need for many chargers.
Solar chargers consist of a series of quartz-crystal panels that fold up when the charger is not in use. When deployed, the charger resembles a crystalline flower, and many artisans carve the panels into aesthetically pleasing shapes. While they may appear delicate, the Essence forged into the panels make them quite sturdy (12B/12L, 15 levels required to break). The panels themselves are bound with orichalcum wire, which runs down into the center mass of the charger. Settings of varying shape and size are set into the foundation of the charger where Essence batteries may be placed.
Once an Essence battery is set into a solar charger, the charger's panels must be deployed and set into full sunlight for eight hours, regardless of the size or number of batteries being charged. The charger gathers Solar Essence, which allows a rapid recharge of the batteries in question. While multiple batteries can be charged at once, it is not possible to mix batteries of differing capacities. Needless to say, solar chargers are useless at night, and act at half capacity on overcast days.
