Flame Splinter

These small sticks of enchanted Elemental Wood enable one to strike a small fire, no larger than a small candle-flame, by striking the end against a rough surface like a match. However, the wooden stick is imperishable, and can be struck an infinite number of times. In the First Age, these little trinkets could be bought by the dozen on every streetcorner, and were considered household staples. Even in the Second Age, they are common enough that even mortals may purchase them (Cost: Resources 3), if the price is right. Making flame splinters is simple, if tedious work, and is often used as punishment for inattentive students at the Heptagram.
