BrilliantRain/ScavengerLords
- Rala, the Scavenger Princess
A mysterious Scavenger Lady, she has a reputation for being the best in the east. She is rumored to be the ruler of one of the Hundred Kingdoms, have traveled all over creation, seduced the Scarlet Empress, discovered more artifacts than every other Scavenger Lord combined, be hotter than Venus, and other such fantastic stories. The only thing everyone is certain of is that she is deadly with her twin Flame Pieces.
- Dakota Simidi
A successful mortal Scavenger Lord. He seems to be mostly in it for the challenge and money, but he has little problem giving out his information freely as long as he gets paid for the artifacts. He will undertake contract work from anyone, including Dynasts. He has a prosthetic hand, due to an occupational injury.
- Cathak Faroyu
An arrogant son of a bitch who was exiled from his house for unspecified crimes. He now searches the east for a way to get his revenge and take control of House Cathak and possibly the Realm as well. He keeps a few loyal retainers who follow him only because he claims that they will be at his right hand when he takes over House Cathak.
- Viridian Fox
Once one of the best mortal scavenger lords in the East. In addition to being an excellent archaeologist and a Thaumaterge of no small skill, he was also an accomplished explorer, fighter, diplomat and just all around bad-ass. He made a number of critical discoveries at the first age ruins of Sal-Maneth, Rathess, and other less well known places. He often lectured at the university in Great Forks and was known to keep an apartment there. He died a couple of years ago, but his apprentice is said to be picking up where he left off, by trying to get into Denandsor, the last great archaeological site.
- Amber Crane
An honorable Outcaste Dragon Blooded (i.e. he might steal a find from you, but he won't kill you) as well as being an excellent MAist, thief, and explorer, but a little weak on his knowledge of the occult and the First Age. He is really only in this for the excitement, the money, and the chicks.
- Ledaal Catala Lonta
A 13 year old, recently exalted, and very precocious dynast who decided to join the family book hunt. While he is quite skilled at sorcery and the occult, his combat abilities are underdeveloped, so House Ledaal has given him some of their best men to help protect him. He normally acts like an over privileged jerk who would rather kill you than negotiate with you, but this may be the act of a kid who is in over his head.
- Plentiful Silver
A young up and coming scavenger lady. While she has only been in the business 5 years, she has made some nice discoveries and recovered a few choice artifacts. However, she has yet to make a real name for herself in the Scavenger Lord community. Still, her career can only go up from here.
- Eighth Bell
A Scavenger Lord of the worst sort. Once merely a shady Merchant Prince of the Guild who dealt in artifacts, his reputation finally deteriorated to the point that he branched out into direct artifact acquisition. Backed up by mercenaries, body guards, and a number of dangerous artifacts, he explores ruins and tombs in search of artifacts. And if he finds another Scavenger Lord, well, who's to say they didn't just trigger the wrong trap?
- Iron Mouse and Jubilant Tiger
A Scavenger Team. Mouse is a skilled practitioner of the Azure Crane School of Even Blade Style. Tiger is a young beastwoman and semi-competent sorceress. They are known for their ability to survive traps though a combination of skill and dumb luck. While they are generally assumed to be in it for the money, there are some who think they are looking for something.
- The Crypt Raiders Syndicate
A group of heroic mortals and Dragon-Blooded who intend to corner the artifact market. To this end they explore ruins like any other group of Scavenger Lords, but they also pressure non-affiliated Scavenger Lords into selling only through them. Their common tactics include threats, intimidation, and occasional assassinations.
- The Scavenger Lords Club
A group of Scavenger Lords who are trying to set certain standards in the profession, like making sure that scavenger lords don't poach from or kill each other. They also have a list of governments and artifact buyers rated by how dangerous/annoying they are for Scavenger Lords to deal with (as it's based on information provided by various members, some of whom delight is harassing others, its accuracy leaves something to be desired). To date they have achieved little success at regulating such an anarchistic group, but paying a yearly due (equivalent to a resources 2 purchase) does get you free access to the chapter house in Nexus, which is widely considered neutral territory and a great place to brag about your exploits. Most Scavenger Lords also say that the open bar doesn't hurt either.
