The Big Plot (Long Version)
During the Convocation of the Great Prophesy, a great many plans were hatched. With their great curse in effect, 107 of the 108 sidereals came to various conclusions which addressed the symptoms of the Solar problem, but not the cause.
Ah, but the last sidereal, a chosen of secrets, had a vauge feeling that something else was going on. Naturally, her curse hightened this feeling to an obessive certainty, so she started her reasearch. She looked into the history of the Solars and learned that they seemed more sane before the primordial war. She talked with Lytek and learned much from things he didn't say. She examined the stars of the underworld (being one of the 8 charged with keeping watch over the Neverborn), and found disturbing hints.
Ultimately, she figured it out. The Primordial's Death Curse. As long as that hangs around the neck of the exalted, Creation will always be beset by corrupt leaders. But how does one destroy a curse that has the power of the dying breath of a Titan behind it? "Well," she reasoned, "if normal death curses only last as long as the ghost exists, then it is possible that the total destruction of the Neverborn will end the Great Curse." And thus did her curse bind her to the destruction of the Neverborn.
However, she knew that she would need allies, for, while she had a unique insight into the underworld, she needed to know more. She needed someone with an intuitive knowledge of essence that even sidereals lacked. She needed... a Solar.
And thus did the Green Lady come to Larquen Quen.
Now up until this point Quen was a bit of a nerd. A quintessenital Twilight caste, he prefered spending his time in his lab, coming up with new speels or artifacts or anything else for that matter. He was one of those who wanted to puzzle out the secrets underpinning Creation. But, unlike most other Twilights, he spurned the servants of the Primordials, living or dead, as their answers came with too high a price. Besides, it's more fun to figure it out yourself and he was arrogant enough to belive that he truely did not need their help. Thus, from a certain point of view, he was remarkably sane for a First Age Solar.
Until The Green Lady Came unto him.
And the Green Lady did say, "Lo! For we are all $(%&$#*&$%&!"
She explained about the Curse to Quen, showed him her research and explained how she thought the curse could be destroyed. And Quen looked at this and knew that it was true. So they talked. They discussed. The argued. They Planned. And they concluded that they needed more information. So they hatched a plan. They would rewrite their memories, reweave their minds, reprogram their ghosts, all so they could gain the trust of the Neverborn, get the information they needed, but still retain enough of their old selves to use it for the benifit of Creation.
Thus the Green Lady appeared to fail in her duties, falling into the abyss that she was made to stare into.
Thus did Quen appear to become a mad scientist, secretly out for world domination, and finally having a social life.
And soon one of Quen's crazy schemes appeared to bear fruit. Having decided that the simplest way of ruling the World would be to cast Solar Sancutary over it, he needed something that would greatly enhance his sorcerous power. While researching
