The Lead Pyramids

In various locations across the West exist small rocky islands that contain nothing save a large Pyramid made from lead blocks. There is no obvious means of entering these structures.

These are First Age Hazardous Materials Storage Units. Broken artifacts, leaking essence capacitors, demonic scriptures, necrotic voids, and other things dripping with hazardous essence effects were stored here to prevent them from causing harm. The lead construction of the prevents the hazardous materials inside from effecting the area outside, while internal essence sinks draw off and purify the unholy miasma inside the building. While, yes, a hearthstone could be created from this, no-one would be that stupid.
