Jade

Born to a whore in the back-alleys of Nexus, Jade fell in with a thieve's guild at the age of six, helping run pick-pocket scams and running errands. As she got older it was obvious she had a knack for shady business. She was given more and more challenging tasks, and always came back successful. When she realized she was making a name for herself she formally broke with the guild on good terms (she'd give their fences first crack at what she acquired) and went free-lance.
Just shorter than average height with a lithe figure, Jade has skin like bronze porcelain. She takes her alias from her brilliant jade-green eyes. Her hair is black shot through with crimson, burgundy, maroon, and violet. Jade knows she's the best at what she does, and won't take a job if it isn't a challenge. She says what she thinks but knows she's not a fabulous negotiator. She's black ops, not public relations. She takes her "work clothes" and tools with her just about where-ever she goes in a large, canvas satchel. Even when working in a team Jade tends towards the solo tasks, and never suffers a partner when she's doing what she does best.

Expanded Backgrounds

Contacts: Jade's main contact in Nexus is a fence she only knows by his street name, Fence. He works for her former guild and has done business with her for years. He runs a store dealing in jewelry and delicate craftwork as a front. He got suspicious when she brought in a set of black jade armor, but knows that questions are dangerous things.

Resources: Over the years, Jade has made quite a bundle in stolen and smuggled goods. She owns a small townhouse in the outskirts of Nexus. Her cover is that she's some wealthy merchant's daughter that wanted out of the house and was wanted out of the house. She loves to go out shopping for clothes and nice things, and has a weakness for jewelry that compliments her eyes. She has a housekeeper, Gloria, who cleans and cooks for her, returning to her own family early in the evening. She doesn't know where her employer's money really comes from.

Notes

Jade was my first Exalted character. This stat block is not only a conversion to 2nd edition but also a revision. The long-term, regular game she started in ended before it was finished. The 30 XP is a bit arbitrary, but this revision reflects about as much experience as she had when we stopped.
