Cloud-Cutters
Artifact ••••
First Age Orichalcum chakra (set of 3)
Accuracy +4, Damage +3L, Rate 3, Range 40 yrd.s
Requires: Dexterity 3; Commitment: 4 (Orichalcum)
Cloud-Cutters are named for the streaks of golden light left in their wake, which are often compared to beams of sunlight showing between thick clouds. While not the weapon of choice for many Solars, they weren't rare in the First Age. It's been suggested that the name is also intended to mock one of the more popular weapons, the Grand Daiklave or "foe-cutter."
- The statistics given (i.e. Artifact ••••, commitment 4) are for a set of three Cloud-Cutters. A single Cloud Cutter is Artifact ••• and commits for 2 motes.
- If the only declared dice-actions in a round are throwing Cloud-Cutters, the multiple-action penalty garnered mimics full-dodge actions instead of the standard multi-action penalty, taking -0, -1, -2, etc. If such a "full-throw" is declared, the maximum rate the Cutters may be thrown at is the user's unmodified Thrown+Essence.
- If a user is attuned to the Orichalcum of a Cloud-Cutter, they may spend 1 mote when throwing the chakrum to have it return to their hand after it hits/misses. This does not count as using a Charm.
- The statistics given do not include the Orichalcum FMM bonus (Acc +1, Dmg +1, Rng +10).
