Schala Sen is a woman of born to a pair of foreign merchants in Harborhead. Growing up amongst the influential merchants of the place she was well educated even if she was not taught business as much. Tutored in arts, conversation, maths, history, she was to be the perfect child for arranged political business marriages. Her quiet charming nature amongst such circles also taught her how to listen to what others say and don't say and pick up many little secrets from observation.
Her exaltation was predicted quite easily. In fact hers had been a troublesome exaltation since the Ursupation. She had died no less then 6 times since the Ursupation. She had died during the Ursupation stoping a mad twilight. While their is no proof of what exactly happened in that terrible battle or what exalty was in that dark laboratory it seemed that her fate was tinged with plain bad luck. So while it was easy enough to find her anew each time she always seemed to come to an untimely end. In fact the Gods at the Bureau of Ending took bets on the matter quietly. Her death's were always caused by something that changed how things should have went. Essence wielder, rogue demons, fair folk or the denizens of the underworld.
That said her well predicted day of exaltation meant she was able to exalt quietly in privacy with another Sidereal soon enough on hand to draw her into the fold. Her Sifu, the one who brought her in, was one of those Sidereals who joined the Gold Faction shortly after the Solars escaped. This time around however things seem to be going a little better in her favor. While in her first week in Yu-shan she encountered and was befriended by a certain godly familiar. A ki-rin this celestial being was an old creation of first age sorcerous magics and has worked helpfully and peacefully as an aide, familiar and employee of all five Bureaus of Destiny as a general agent of positive fortune. His special talent is smoothing out the tangles caused by essence wielders thus making him a favored ally for Sidereal agents or sent to secretly follow a Wyld Hunt after a Solar.
Trained by the one who retrieved her she quickly found herself being pulled into factional politics and working with and for the Gold Faction. To that end she works at a place just on the eastern edge of the Marukani lands which is well known for the oracles that work there and the accuracy of their prophetic sight. There she has assumed a Resplendant Destiny as one of the oracles to help influence the course of the East. She outwardly remains committed to the principal that the Solar's will rule the world at the Sidereal's behest and guidance yet in secret she wishes to see them rule the east as they will. Before her mentor found her one god came to her. A diety claimed that she must do what she can to help the Solar's rule the east. It was important that it came to pass that they did and that furthermore she should keep this information to herself. She doesn't know who this God was but the words of this robed and cloaked figure affected her deeply.
On a personal level she hasn't adjusted as well to what she is as others might. The burden of what she knows, of what her Exaltation means and knowledge of the true state of the world leaves her saddened at times.
