<b>River Rat's Base: With this cunning charm Danus Waverunner and his men quiet up and settle down. Even in plain visable sight people ignore them and sail past. Wether its a chasing fleet of some river nation or just a wandering Guild Caravan no one notices the quietly lurking and smirking pirates. Rats in the Basement Style + Second Wits Excellency for 5m and 1wp minimum.
Smirking Pirate's Evasion: Wether attacked while sleeping quietly away in his room or suddenly set upon by a charge of angry monks the River pirate always has a grin and a smirk and an escape. He jumps far and wide to get himself fighting room and if the situation calls for it can move faster then sight and bend in impossible ways to avoid an attack. When he does this his body takes on a quicksilver sheen and he trails sparkling silver motes in his wake. This combo uses Wary Swallow Method, Wind-Dancing Method, Second Dexterity Excellency and Flowing Body Evasion for a minimum cost of 0m and 1wp.
Cocky Pirate's Mark: Outright just killing his foes just isn't the style of Danus Waverunner. Why kill them when you can best them and send them home in disgrace cursing your name? With his charm his blade sweeps in, brushing all defenses aside and cleaves in. Though the blow doesn't kill it leaves its mark and often sends its victim into an unconscious slumber. Whenever he uses this charm he shouts a snappy mocking phrase, his hand or blade glow with a silver light and when he strikes there is a burst of momentarily blinding silver light before his foe is left beaten on the ground. Even worse he avoids any returned strikes like the bastard he is. This combo uses Foe-Marking Style, Lightning Stroke Attack, Burrowing Devil Strike, Subduing the Honored Foe, Second Dexterity Excellency, Flowing Body Evasion and Unstoppable Lunar wound. Its base cost is 15m and 1 wp. For another WP it ignores all armor. For each extra 2 motes he can buy successes. For every 2m he can convert a damage die into a rolled success.

He fights in combat in a variety of ways depending on the quality of opposition. Most of the time he doesn't bother with his warform. His normal skills and fury are sufficient for most tasks. If a threat is important enough to warrant his warform he doesn't hold back and freely starts to burn those peripheral motes. He will discard his finely made swords too and stick to his claws if the situation requires his warform.
He talks a lot when he fights regardless of form. Usually for your basic riverboarding engagement he wont even bother with charms. If there is Godblood or young Terrestial issues Wasp Sting Blur, Secure Cat Stepping, Frenzied Bear Fortification and Might Bolstering Blow suffices along with the extra motes he can regain which he can burn on excellencies.
Some three centuries ago Danus was born as Avan Coreh of the Tanu tribe in Greyfalls. It was a time when the Tanu still did not make up a great portion of the Greyfalls population and were treated worse then they are now. There was little hope of upward movement for him and as the 4th in a family of 7 he had to work hard and from a young age to help the family survive and earn his keep. Still he always had a joke and a quip to lift the spirits of his friends. When he grew older he grew more restless and spoke out more and more against the Realm masters. So they broke his legs and tossed him to the river. Yet still he didn't just die. He grabbed a log and floated downstream until a passing river pirate ship picked him up. Even with the silver mark on his brow they decided he might be worth the trouble of befriending.
He wasn't with them long before a Retrieval Pack got ahold of him and spirited him back into the wylds. Yet he never forgot those few weeks with the pirates. In fact when he had been marked as the changing moon due to his natural charm and leadership skills he went back to them and swiftly took them over. And so for nearly three centuries he has been a thorn in the side of Greyfalls and the Realm and other pirates. Many river nations offer him safe port due to his strikes against their enemies. Careful rumor campaigns and careful use of his essence means most do not believe the claims that he is an Anathema. Careful use of Changing Plumage Mastery let him seem to age and that the captains changed over time.
