BlackFlame/FirstGameAbyssals
Intro
The Circle of Solars (and one Dragonblooded) my players were running made a deal with a group of Abyssals. The Abyssals were to stage an assault on some of the Silver Prince's forces, which would cause him to pull some away from the Isle of Shadows. The Solars would then attack the Isle and prevent to Silver Prince from gaining access to its First Age shipyards. Rather than just say "The Abyssals were successful, you guys can attack now" I decided to let my players control the Abyssals. This let them try different character concepts as well as change up the pace.
Sailor on the Seas of Woe - Alicrast's player
Architect of the Blasphemous Havoc - Moksha's player
Voice of Those Taken Away - Isabella's player
Starting Out
After some discussion the Shadow's Servants decied to draw the Silver Prince's attention by going to the southwest and provoking the Lintha and Moray Darktide. Truth and Voice, the social characters, head to the south to make contact with Voice's spy network to gather intel. Architect and Sailor decide to sail Dark Harvest through the Underworld to their destination. Wraith debates a bit, and then decides to take the ship.
Once the Southwest is reached Architect uses Shadow Stones Travel to travel to Creation. They search for Moray in the usual Abyssal fasion. They get a lead in the third village put to the sword, and head west on the trail of Darktide.
Moray's port of call was a mid sized pirate port whose name was of no consequence. Dark Havest sailed back into the Underworld to give the group a chance to plan. The debate was ended with Architect getting fed up and casting Void Cocoon Warrior grabbing Sailor and putting him on his shoulder and striding away from the ship. Sailor cast Shadow Stones Travel and the screaming began.
The battle started with Sailor being thrown (without warning) at Moray Darktide who was on his flagship. Architect then proceeded to begin chopping up the rest of his fleet. Moray and Sailor's fight was fairly even with neither landing a telling blow while Moray demanded information from his assailant. After the first ship fell to the Warstrider Moray's ship started heading out to sea. Somewhere the town started to burn as panicking people knocked over lanterns.
Architect sank the other two ships and then jumped onto the deck of the flagship. Sailor used a massive charm assisted jump to get back into the town to regain some essence the Abyssal way, murder. Darktide turned to face his new foe.
Moray was able to fend off the gigantic weapon though his abilities, perfect defenses, and Architect's lack of fighting skills. Finally Architect put everything he had into one blow, Moray blocked but the force of the impact forced him though the deck and left Architect's weapon stuck in the keel. The ship began to take on water and the bow started to rise. The zombie rowers who had recieved no orders since being told to row backwards continued and ultimately rowed the ship to the bottom of the sea.
Architect considered the mission a success, grabbed Sailor, and headed back to the Underworld to plot. The town continued to burn. The zombies continued to row.
A little while later a man in a long coat stood on the end of a dock. He stared at the chaos as water dripped off his tattered coat. The coat was long and had a skull shoulderpad, half of which was missing.
One thought ran through Moray Darktide's mind as he watched what was his fleet finish sinking..."I'm going to need a bigger boat."
Meanwhile, back in Creation
This was supposed to be a short interlude which was followed by more Abyssal goodness, however my crazy players stretched it out into two whole session, and then decieded not to go back to the Abyssals.
General Chark decides that he will stay near Vvardenfell. Isabella also stays in the West, though she travels with her pirates. Moksha and Alicrast decide to head east and check on the Five Shade Association and set up a spy network.
After a series of Azure Chariots they talk with one of the highest ranked members of the Midnight Smoke Syndicate, Ruby Blade, and have him start setting up something to suit what the Circle would need. After a little looking around for Valdar Ken and the Crystal Wolves they find out that they're in Lookshy at the moment. A quick chariot ride south confirms the rumors...they're true. Valdar says that he's in talks with Lookshy and they're supplying the Crystal Wolves with superior weapons and armor in exchange for doing a few missions for the General Staff.
While in Lookshy they get a emergency message from Ruby Blade, the disagreement between the faction wanting to join with the Solars and the faction against the alliance had turned to violence. Moksha and Alicrast quickly moved to join in the ninja battle. The forces loyal to the circle emerged victorious due to superior numbers, organization, and a night caste solar.
Everything seemed going well in the East so Moksha and Alicrast decided to head back west. On the trip Alicrast started to tell Moksha about a rogue legion that he had heard about. It was in the North, and it was formally a Ledaal legion. Not only that but two other Ledaal legions were after it.
After some information gathering they were able to track down the rogue legion. It was in a pretty bad situation as it had just skirmished with one of the loyal legions and the other was closing in while the first rested up. The soldiers were tired, and the Dragonblooded officers were begining to doubt whether it was a good idea to go rogue. This was when Moksha, Alicrast, Ember, Grass, and Odim walked into camp.
Alicrast boldly walked up the the strategos an air outcaste named Stalwart Sky.
"Looks like you're in a bad situation. I think that my group and I could help you out, for a price."
"What kind of price?"
"Your loyalty...to myself and through me to House Tepet. Oh, and don't tell anyone. Do we have a deal?"
"If you make the legions pull back we will."
That night Moksha and his stealthy followers snuck into the camp of the legion that was preparing to attack. Moksha set out to kill the ten dragonlords while his followers sewed havoc as they saw fit.
