Ascendance/TheEscaped

These characters were originally created for a thread on RPG.net about powerful escapees from Yu Shan's most secure jail, the Thrice-Locked Gaol. They are all powerful Solars from the First Age, all whom were too dangerous or too influential to simply kill. Even one of these characters could easily drive a campaign. All five is probably a little too much.

• The General\\

A First Age Solar General who knows all the codes for the Realm Defense Grid. Clearly, too valuable to be killed. However, because of the Great Curse, he's completely dedicated to killing every single last Dragon-Blooded on the face of creation for having the temerity to try and usurp the Solars. He's gathered together a cabal of other powerful individuals, and has taken over a hidden First Age redoubt and is busy turning it into his James Bond villain-style base. While he's pretty decent at combat (i.e. has most of the Melee Charms), most of his Charms run towards creating legions of fanatical soldiers (i.e. has unpublished Essence 7 Presence Charms). He would need at least one fanatically loyal and really powerful Earth-Aspect who serves as his bodyguard, henchman, and batman.

• The Corrupt Politician\\

A Zenith Caste and former Speaker of the Solar Deliberative. He simply has too many connections and knows too many embarrasing secrets in Yu Shan to quietly eliminate. Even though it offends all sense of propriety and balance, upon escaping, he's found a position among former friends in the Eastern Spirit Court. He's gaining influence by day as he secretly campaigns to topple the Immaculate Order and re-institute direct divine worship across creation.

• The Necromancer\\

A Twilight Caste who is known to be one of the greatest Necromancers who ever lived. Her understanding of the Malfeans made her too valuable to eliminate. However, like a Dusk-caste, she has exactly no ethical restraints to her search for knowledge.

• The Grandfather of Assassins\\

Creator of the Ebon Shadow Style, he is the greatest assassin who still lives. It is said that he has come to an understanding with the Maiden of Endings, which is why he still lives. Meanwhile, across Creation, the remnants of his former cult read the signs of escape and draw together, seeking the newly-Exalted into to train them.

• The Fae-Corrupted\\

A brilliant diplomat who negotiated the early treaties with the Fae. She was seduced and corrupted by the Glamour of the Wyld, and was imprisoned even before the Terrestrial Uprising. Now, half mad, she has escaped and has called upon ancient pacts to raise a great host of Faerie Knights.
