Hailstorm Sheath

A simple and somewhat utilitarian artefact, the Hailstorm Sheath is nonetheless highly prized by those Exalts who prefer to use the javelin in combat, the Air Essence within it chills the points of those weapons stored within it as well as ensuring that the character will not lose them (barring exceptional circumstances). Made from very fine leather, so smooth to the touch it's almost like soft glass, it is tanned to a black so perfect that it can almost be used as a mirror. Blue jade wiring covers it, forming strange patterns that at evoke the sensations of ice and snow in the observer’s mind, while within is a honeycomb structure with ten carefully arranged spaces, each large enough to hold a single javelin. Its strap, while cut from a single piece of leather, and without buckle or loop, adjusts itself naturally to fit perfectly to its wearer, and it is always out of the way except when needed.

Mechanically this artefact adds +2L to the damage of all javelins drawn from it (whether thrown or used to stab with) and will recall all javelins thrown from it (it takes approximately a day seated within to “attune” a javelin to the Sheath) at the end of the scene. Any javelin lost as a result of a botch or otherwise destroyed cannot be recalled in this manner. The Hailstorm Sheath requires the commitment of 2 motes to become attuned to an Exalt and there is no benefit for harmonisation.
