This weapon was developed in the first age as an alternative to the plasma repeater for those who could wield essence. The dragons maw condenses the user's essence into a crystal in the chambers of the revolver, which when struck with the firing hammer it uncrystalizes the essence releasing great force projecting the rest of the crystal forward. The Maw was designed as a secondary weapon as such it is balanced in such a way it does not suffer from the off hand penalty. Due to the weapon drawing its power from the user the stronger the exalt the denser the stone created, the release also bears a color associated with the users essence, solars being a golden light, lunars a silvery beam and so forth. For six motes and a speed five action the user can reload the weapon. It should be noted that the crystal ammo can be removed and stored for later use but as the crystals are very unstable a hard hit could set one off, creating a chain explosion causing the ammo’s damage X the number of shots present, as such this is not a recommend procedure.
