Rapid Response Essence Array
Cost:
4m
Type: Reflexive
Duration: One scene
Commitment: 0m
Minimum Perception: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Auxiliary Essence Storage Unit

This charm takes the form of an Orihalcom exoskeleton-like coating over the shoulders, upper back, and neck. This exoskeleton contains dozes of Moonsilver nodules. In addition, two arcs of blue jade trace the outer edge of each eye socket. When activated, a field of essence leaps into being between the blue jade enhancements and the Moonsilver nodules elongate and extrude into an array of spires and vanes. This charm provides two effects: The first is that character is able to detect whenever an individual expends motes and whether they are using the motes to power a charm, artifact, anima power, etc, within a radius of the character’s (Essence x10) yards. The second effect is that whenever another being expends essence to power an effect either to aid or create an action targeting the character, or in a direct response to one of the character’s actions, the Rapid Response Essence Array generates an equal number of motes. These motes persist only for the duration of the instant they are created in and may only be used to power charms, which have Rapid Response Essence Array as a pre-requisite.

Sub-Modules:

 • Amplification Rings-A ring of Red Jade surrounds each nodule and amplifies the essence generated by the Moonsilver vanes. The output of the Rapid Response Essence Array is now 150% of the amount of essence spent by its targets. This module increases the commitment cost of the charm to 1m.
 • Essence Reservoir- The addition of an Adamant and White Jade holding tank allows for greater stability in the essence generated by this charm. Each time this module is purchased, it allows the character to store 5 of the motes generated by the Rapid Response Essence Array for up to a scene. In addition, the character may refill her Auxiliary Essence Tanks with motes generated by this charm at the rate of 3 per mote restored to the Tank.
 • Atmospheric Distillation Unit Alloying all five types of Jade to the Moonsilver vanes allows for the Rapid Response Essence Array to draw essence from the very environment. This module allows the charm to generate 1 mote of essence a round in addition to those generated from other sources. A character must have first installed at least one essence reservoir in order to install this module. This module may be purchased up to (Essence/2) times .
 • Basic TransformerAmbisinister/Converter-This sub-module allows the motes generated by this charm to be additionally used to power the character’s anima effects. A minimum Essence of 4 is required to install this module.
 • Advanced TransformerAmbisinister/Converter- This sub-module allows the motes generated by this charm to be additionally used to power the character’s charms. A minimum Essence of 5 is required to install this module.

Field Equalization Technology
Cost:
1m per die
Type: Reflexive
Duration: Instant
Commitment: 1m
Minimum Intelligence: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Rapid Response Essence Array

This charm generally takes the appearance of a fine filigree of Orihalcom and Starmetal on the character’s forearms, hands, shins, and feet. This charm is designed to help mitigate the edge other magical creatures may gain by activating charms or other essence fueled powers. Whenever another being expends essence to power an effect which either aids or creates an action affecting the character, or is a direct response to one of the character’s actions, the Field Equalization Technology may be activated to modify one of the Alchemical’s die pools. Dice granted by this charm are treated as bonus charm dice and follow all of the normal rules for die adder caps. This charm may only be powered by essence generated by the Rapid Response Essence Array.

Eg. Burnished Instrument of Conquest is in combat with a Solar Exalt. The Solar strikes at Conquest with his daiklave, activating excellent strike to enhance his attack. He spends 8 motes and purchases 8 dice. Conquest may now activate his Field Equalization Technology in response and may purchase up to 8 dice to add to his dodge or parry. Later in the scene, Conquest is attempting to escape and attempts a stealth action to hide. One of the Solar’s Circle mates activates a perception charm for 4 motes to help him spot Conquest. Conquest may now activate Field Equalization Technology to purchase up to 4 dice to add to his stealth roll.

Sub-Modules:

 • Secondary Power SourceThe installation of this sub-module allows the character to power Field Equalization Technology from his own mote pool in addition to motes generated by the Rapid Response Essence Array.
 • Reactive Armor Matrix The addition of White Jade crystals suspended within a Moonsilver matrix to the Alchemical’s skin enables the Field Equalization Technology to boost his resilience in response to magical attacks. Instead of purchasing dice, the character may boost his soak at the rate of +1B/+1L per mote invested. Alternatively, the character may boost his aggravated soak at the rate of +1 per 2 motes spent. If the character wishes to both add dice and boost soak he must include the charm in an array and activate it twice.

Retributive Strike Network
Cost:
2m
Type: Reflexive
Duration: Instant
Commitment: 1m
Minimum Wits: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Field Equalization Technology

This charm takes the form of a network of Starmetal and Moonsilver cables linking the Field Equalization Technology to the Rapid Response Essence Array. While the Retributive Strike Network allows the character to launch a retaliatory strike, it is particularly deadly when used to counter magically enhanced or generated attacks. When activated the charm provides a counterattack with a die pool equal to the character’s Dexterity +Essence +number of motes the opponent spent on his attack. Its base damage is equal to the base damage of whatever attack method the character chooses to employ (i.e. daiklave strike, bow attack, punch, etc.). Motes generated by the Rapid Response Essence Array may power this charm.

Anti-Personnel Kinetic Burst
Cost:
5m
Type: Reflexive
Duration: Instant
Commitment: 1m
Minimum Wits: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisites: Retributive Strike Network

This charm takes the form of small, barely noticeable nodes of White and Blue Jade located on all of the major essence focuses of the Alchemical’s body. When activated, this charm expels a burst of kinetic force to unbalance and disrupt an opponent. This charm may either be activated on its own in response to an attack or it may be used to enhance a melee or hand-to-hand attack made by the Alchemical. When used on its own, the charm generates an attack pool of (Essence x3) dice. When used to supplement an attack, the charm relies on the attack’s pool. If the Anti-Personnel Kinetic Burst hits, it knocks the target back a number of yards equal to the successes on the attack roll +the character’s essence. In addition it inflicts a =2 penalty to the target’s die pools. This penalty lasts for a number of rounds equal to the character’s essence and is cumulative. Finally, the victim must succeed in a Dexterity +Athletics roll with a difficulty equal to the successes on the Alchemical’s attack roll or be knocked prone. This charm can interrupt a character’s ability to make multiple attacks against the Alchemical if she is unable to return to attack range after being knocked back. If placed in an array, this charm may be used to supplement the counterattack generated by Retributive Strike Network. Motes generated by the Rapid Response Essence Array may power this charm.

Dynamic Combat System
Cost:
0m or 6m 1wp
Type: Special
Duration: Special
Commitment: 3m, 1 clarity
Minimum Wits: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisites: Retributive Strike Network, any Augmentation of Wits

This charm takes the form of a number of fist sized polygonal drones made of the same material as the Alchemical’s caste. The drones are generally affixed to the character’s back, shoulders, hips and thighs, or stored within obvious internal compartments. The drones generated by the Dynamic Combat System are capable of hovering around the alchemical and providing an intelligent point defense and attack system. The charm generates a number of drones equal to the exalt’s essence and has two modes: slave and autonomous. While in slave mode, the Alchemical must use his own actions to control the drones, essentially wielding them as a weapon, rolling wits +archery or thrown with the following characteristics: accuracy: number of drones, Damage: 2L per drone, Defense: number of drones, Rate essence, Range 15 yards. By spending 6m and 1 wp, the character may put the drones into autonomous mode for the scene. While in autonomous mode, the drones can be set to defense or offense: While in defensive mode the drones provide a single parry each round with a pool equal to the exalt’s wits +essence +the number of drones. This defense may reduce an attack’s successes before the character attempts to avoid it. While in attack mode, the drones may make a single reflexive attack each round using the characteristics above.

Sub-modules:

 • Drone Hub- Each time this module is purchased it adds a drone to the character’s arsenal. This module may be taken a number of times equal to the character’s essence.
 • Omnimodal Intelligence Program-Allows the character to both attack and defend with drones in the same round. The Alchemical may designate how many drones will defend and how many will attack.
 • Total Independence Program-The defensive option of autonomous mode becomes a cascading parry as if the drones had declared a full defense parry. Drones set into the attack pattern may target multiple foes or the same foe multiple times. Determine how many drones will be attacking each target. All drone attacks receive an accuracy penalty equal to the number of attacks beyond the first being made that round. E.g. If there will be a total of four drone attacks in a round, all the attacks receive a -3 die penalty.
 • Overcharged Munitions When this module is installed the character may expend 4m to boost the damage per drone to 3L for a single round.

Wasn't sure where to archive this, so I made a new place for it. Charms came from some weird mechanics ideas I was having. i'm unsure about them, but thought I'd go ahead and post them to see what you folks think.-Ambisinister
