Mark of the Dragon
Artifact: ••
Commitment: 4 motes

These devices are often badges, marks, or other symbols of office or allegiance crafted from a solid piece of Jade. After being completed, the device must be taken to an elemental dragon of the appropriate type for the variety of Jade and blessed by said entity.

The bearer of a Mark of the Dragon is blessed with the divine authority and might of one of the Elemental Dragons. Reduce the MDV of beings with a lesser essence than the bearer by 1 for the purposes of resisting commands, orders, or attempts to impress or intimidate. In addition, add 1 die to the character's war and presence rolls in similar situations.

Marks of the Dragon have an additional purpose: They may be used in the forging of Insignia of the Chosen. Insignia of the Chosen are smaller badges or pins bearing identical heraldry to the Mark to which they are attuned. Insignia may be distributed and attuned, often by sub-ordinates of the bearer of the Mark. Attunement costs 1 willpower or 1 mote. The bearer of the Mark receives a few advantages when dealing with those attuned bearing his Insignia. All Chosen can clearly hear the commands and orders of the bearer of the Mark despite environmental factors, distance, or volume. When co-ordinating an attack comprised entirely of Chosen, the bearer recieves an automatic success. So long as only Chosen are involved, reduce the cost of the Terrestrial (Ability) Reinforcement charm by 4, to a minium of 1, or by 6 to a minium of 1 if the ability is governed by the aspect matching the Jade used to construct the Mark. Finally, so long as only chosen are involved, the Bearer may affect up to his essence x2 targets with his Terrestrial (Ability) Reinforcement charms.

Five Insignia of the Chosen are equivalent to one level of the Artifact Background. Up to the character's Essence x5 Insignia may be attuned to a given Mark, and a character may only bear one Mark at a time.

This may have some mass combat effects, but I won't know for sure until I re-read the mass combat section.-Ambisinister
