The Chimerae

Without tattoos, in the Wyld, Lunars slowly lose their magics to its twisting influence. This manifests in Chimeric versions of the charms they have taken.

While in the Wyld, they must make a Willpower + Essence roll. Once per month in the Bordermarches, once per week in the Middlemarches, once per day in the Deep Wyld and hourly if trapped in Pure Chaos. This is at a difficulty of 1 in the Bordermarches, 4 in the Middlemarches, 7 in the Deep Wyld and 10 in Pure Chaos.

Every time this roll is failed, one of the Lunar's Charms changes to its Chimeric Aspect. If the Lunar ends up with more Chimeric Aspected Charms than her Willpower + Essence, she becomes a Chimerae. Her remaining Charms and Talents get corrupted to their Chimeric Aspects at a rate of 1 per day, and she no longer regains Essence in Creation, only in Demesnes and the Wyld, though Creation cannot harm her, and she can draw Essence from dreams just as Raksha can.

Chimeric aspected Charms are cleansed during the tattooing ritual. Other cleansing methods are possible, the simplest being spending extended time in Creation outside of a Demesne - Chimeric Aspected charms will revert to their originals at the rate of one per season (three months).

Dreamsilver

Aside from the aspected nature of their Charms, Chimerae lose Moonsilver as their Magical Material, gaining Dreamsilver in its place, a white, shimmering silver that seems to shift and flow, made from Wyld-Tainted silver alloyed with the dreams of mortals. It acts like Moonsilver in most respects, including acting as a Magical Material. It is further detailed inXerExaltedLite/Artificing

Relations with the Raksha

Young and foolish Raksha see Chimerae as agents of Creation, ready to turn on the Wyld at a moment's notice. Often more than a little insane, Chimerae certainly make even the greatest of Raksha worry, for Chimerae are bound by no oaths, yet can roam even the Purest of Chaos without fear. Chimerae are twisted by the Wyld, however, and many find Creation's existance to be abomination, for each of their Chimeric Charms represent a Raksha tainting that ability. One by one, they warp the Lunar's nature and will, eventually overcoming her.

Lords among the Fair Folk take care to treat them well and make allies of them, for should one be destroyed, its Shard returns to Yu Shan, eventually Exalting another host, and a potential ally of the Horde is turned into a great, and, with the tattoos, unswayable foe.

Castes

Mechanically, the Castes are identicle. They do go by different names, however.

Rising Moons are Full Moons.

Waxing Moons are Gibbous Moons.

Setting Moons are Half Moons.

Waning Moons are Crescent Moons.

Blind Moons are New Moons.

No Caste actively serves a specific purpose, though it is still representative of their strengths. Their Tells follow the same rules that Lunars do, however their Phase Bonus changes according to the progression of the Moon instead (Blind Moons only activating on a Lunar Eclipse)

Beast Form

On becoming a Chimerae, a Lunar's Beast Form changes. She loses access to her Gift Charms, instead gaining the ability to take on Wyld mutations at will. These cost 2 motes per mutation point, lasting for the Scene. In Beast Form, she may commit up to 5 motes per point of permanent Essence she has in this manner.
