Supernatural Fighting Styles

Learning Supernatural Fighting Styles has some differences, for one all Exalted can learn a Supernatural Style
of appropriate level, they are not tied to an Exalt type. Another difference is they are learned as a merit
that uses essence to enhance combat, some of these maneuvers count as charm use, some don't.

The styles are represented as a Fighting Style merit that requires mote expenditures to use maneuvers.
These follow the normal rules for fighting styles, having prerequisites, and the need to buy a lower level
merit before a higher level one. They also usually have essence costs and may have other drawbacks, like
no armor or limited to a specific weapon. Many can be bought as a brawl OR weapon based styles, this means
they can be one or the other, not both, although you could train in both to increase your options.
Experience costs: Terrestrial styles cost 3 times new level, Celestial Styles costs 4 times new level,
Sidereal styles would cost 6 times new level, but since they are mostly learned by those who favor the
merit it is effectively 5 times new level for Sidereals or 6 times new level if a Solar or another learned.

Terrestrial Fighting Styles

Supernatural Fighting Style: Golden Janissary Style
Prerequisites: Presence 3, Brawl 2 or Weaponry 2, Occult 2
Effect: Your character has trained to fight the enemies of Creation, like undead. This style can be learned
with weapons of spears and dire lances instead, in which case replace brawl with weaponry.
This style may be used with light armor, or no armor. Fire Aspect's may learn this style without training.

Cleansing Flame Strike (*): You may spend one mote to make an attack deal lethal damage to creatures
of darkness.

Doom Inquisition (**): You may make a bare-handed attack or touch maneuver to determine if foe is
considered a creature of Darkness.

Light on Dark Shield (***): Spend one mote to reduce incoming attack die pool by two dice, but not below
one die. Used against Creatures of Darkness it reduces attack by five dice and if attack reaches zero, creature
must roll chance die but does not get a success even on a ten.

Paralyzing Combustion Imbuement (****): You may spend 1 mote and 1 willpower to make an attack that
deals stunning damage(-1 penalty per health level that lasts until healed). Can be used as a touch-attack to
cause one penalty that lasts for the scene but caused no damage.

Lone Spark Lights the Conflagration (*****): Spend 1 mote to make an attack that does +6 damage to
Creatures of Darkness (+3 to others) and lights them on fire. This fire does one damage per turn and is
sustained for the Stylists Essence score in turns unless put out early by target's efforts.

Celestial Fighting Styles

Dreaming Pearl Courtesan Style

Supernatural Fighting Style: Dreaming Pearl Courtesan Style
Prerequisites: Presence 3, Brawl 2, Expression or Persuasion or socialize at 2, Essence 2
Effect: Your Character has trained to fight while emulating the Dreaming Courtesan. This style makes use
of props, paper fans, sashes, sleeves, belts and other such harmless things must be used to fight with this
style, but use the Brawl skill. This can also be used with whips, rope darts, or props used to emulate them.
In this case use the weaponry skill to replace Brawl, the merit must be purchased for this separately.
This Style comes very close to the border in power between Celestial and Sidereal styles, hence the
restrictions, practitioners should take care from being lost. This style allows no armor. Weapon Note: Seven section Staves are 2B, but add one to defense. Wind-fire Wheels are 2L.

Demure Carp Feint (*): Spend one mote to add +2 or +Essence to Defense for one turn.

Lethal Paper Fan (**): Spend one mote to infuse essence into a prop turning it into a a Wind-Fire
Wheel or a Seven Sections Stave, depending on if it is a paperfan or hairbrush for former, or a sash,
sleeve, or cape for later. If this is learned as a weaponry merit and is used to enhance a weapon the
Exalt can add their essence as a dice bonus, defense bonus or any combination. These effects last for
one turn.

Flurry of August Leaves (***): Spend one mote to send a prop lashing out to attack an opponent up
5 times Essence Score yards away as long as prop can reasonably leave or reach. The prop makes an attack
using normal die pools and returns. The Exalt is free to do anything else and does not need to further
concentrate on they attack, although they may use reflexive charms and merits to enhance it. Drawback:
This charm costs the used their defense and they cannot activate it if they have used their defense.

Vindictive Concubine's Pillow Book Understanding (****): Spend one mote when making an attack with
props of this style and slip into gaps in armor, gaining an Armor Piercing quality equal to Essence + Brawl
of the Stylist.

Fragrant Petal Fascination Kata (*****): Spend 2 motes and 1 willpower point and begin the Kata by
rolling Presence + BrawlStarJaunter/NWODMartialArtsCharms/Weaponry. Anyone who witnesses the Kata who's Composure is less than the number of
successes is transfixed by it and cannot act. Those who Composure is equal to successes can act but lose the
stylist's Essence score from their die pools. This lasts until Stylist stops Kata or scene ends. It does not
effect those with Higher Essence than the Stylist. After Kata stops those who were fully transfixed switch to
losing essence dice from their pools until Stylist Essence score turns have passed. Their Resolve scores are
reduced by one until they have had a full nights sleep as they are melancholic.

Ebon Shadow Style

Supernatural Fighting Style: Ebon Shadow Style
Prerequisites: Dexterity 3, Brawl 3 or Weaponry 3
Effect: Your character has trained to fight while emulating a shadowy assasin. This style can be learned
with weapons of fighting chain and sais instead, in which case replace brawl with weaponry.
This style may not be used with armor. Learning this fighting style requires a Sifu
Weapon Note: Chain Weapons are 2(B) weapons and one to range. Sais are 2(L)but add +1 to disarm attempts.
Note: learning even one dot of this style as a weapon style counts as learning enough to use these weapons.

Image of Death Technique (*): The stylist may enter a death-like state, they can sense their environs
but no one can tell they are still alive, their is no need to eat or drink and they can hold their breath 10
times as long. They can maintain this state only 24 hours per a week period.

Seven Points of Weakness Strike (**): Spend 1 mote when making an attack and gain a level of the
armor piercing quality equal to the stylist's Brawling or Weaponry for that attack.

Distracting Finger Gesture (***): Spend 1 mote to make a reflexive gesture that distracts one opponent
They basically skip their next turn, they may use any defense or movement they have left but they are not
refreshed or allowed to take an action unless they didn't use one last turn. The gesture can only be used
on a given target once per scene, they will not fall for it again and the stylist won't be able to come up
with a new gesture in mid-fight.

Paralyzing Touch Attack (****): Spend 2 motes and 1 willpower to make a touch attack, in addition to
normal penalties this attack also suffers an extra penalty equal to target's Essence score. Every Success
achieved on the roll lowers the target's Dexterity by one, when their dexterity is zero, they can't move.
This lasts for the rest of the scene or until someone with at least Medicine 3 or higher can treat them.

Shadow-Stepping Motion (*****): Spend 2 motes and 1 willpower to leap into a nearby shadow and emerge
within a 100 yards of a destination up to Essence score in miles away. The shadow must be unobserved on both
ends. If a valid shadow is not close enough to the target the effect fails and points remain spent. Effects
that stop scrying or teleporting at any level stop this maneuver.

Snake Style

Supernatural Fighting Style: Snake Style
Prerequisites: Dexterity 3, Brawl 3
Effect: Your character has trained to fight while emulating a snake's motions. This style can be learned
with weapons of hook sword and seven section staff instead, in which case replace brawl with weaponry.
This style may be used with armor. Solar's may learn this style without training.
Weapon Note: Hook Swords are 3(L) weapons and give +1 bonus to disarm attempts. Seven section Staves are 2(B)
but add one to defense.

Striking Cobra Technique (*): Spend 1 mote, add Brawl or Weaponry score to Initiative for rest of scene.

Serpentine Evasion (**): Spend 1 mote to add two to defense versus a single attack.

Essence Fang and Scales (***) : Spend 1 motes, for rest of turn your opponents who can see you suffer a
die penalty equal to your essence and your attacks do lethal damage.

Uncoiling Serpent Prana (****) : When successfully attacked you may spend 1 mote to counterattack with
ability + the number of health levels of damage received, out to a distance of up to essence times two yards.
This counts as a counterattack, designed to respond to attackers who can move out of range, it lowers defense
for the rest of turn and cannot be used on counter attacks or be counter attacked.

Essence Venom Strike (*****): Spend 2 motes and a willpower to make an attack deal aggravated damage.

= Tiger Style

Supernatural Fighting Style: Tiger Style
Prerequisites: Strength 3, Brawl 3
Effect: Your character has trained to fight while emulating a tiger's ferocity. This style can be learned
with weapons of tiger claws and razor claws, but can continue to use brawl ability. This style may not be
used with armor. Lunar's may learn this style without training.
Weapon Note: Tiger Claws deal 2(L) Damage have a durability of 3 and cost of 2. Use Brawl to attack.

Crouching Tiger Meditation (*): Your opponents do not gain a close combat bonus against you while you
are prone. However they still must apply the penalty to ranged attacks, this is a non-essence effect.

Raging Tiger Pounce (**): You may spend one mote to make an attack, if successful you will knock
you and your target prone, unless target has balance aiding magic. Note: You do gain the +2 close combat bonus
for targeting a prone person, even when prone yourself, you are immune, thanks to Crouching Tiger Meditation.

Leap From Cloaking Shadows (***): You may spend 1 mote when attempting a surprise attack. This gives
your target a penalty of your essence to their wits + composure roll to notice you. If you succeed in attacking
with surprise, your opponent loses not just defense but any armor or speed(celerity) based bonus as well.

Spine Shattering Bite(****): Spend 2 motes to make an attack, if successful you may add four
levels of lethal damage to attack. This attack also functions on objects if desired.
Drawback: You must lose your defense for the turn, if you had to use your defense already you cannot use maneuver.

Angry Predator Frenzy Style (*****): Spend 2 motes and a willpower point and sacrifice your defense,
in exchange make two full dice brawl attacks, any attack that succeeds against you spawns an immediate counter
attack with your full dice pool. All these attacks deal lethal damage, even without a weapon.
Drawback: You must lose your defense for the turn, if you had to use your defense already you cannot use maneuver.

Sidereal Fighting Styles

= Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style

Supernatural Fighting Style: Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style
Prerequisites: Essence 4, Brawl 5, completed a Celestial Fighting Style, and caste/favored in skill or merit
Effect: Your character has trained to fight while emulating the fundamental nature of creation and focused it
through this fighting style. This style may not be used with armor or any weapons.

Games of Divinity(*): Spend 2 motes and 1 willpower, for 5 turns your character gains a fragment of these
addictive games. Attackers who intend to cause damage must succeed on a Composure roll to make attack. Touch and
grapples are unaffected. Worse those who see you in this form must make a Resolve roll or become addicted to seeing
it performed.

Demesne and Manse(**): Spend 3 motes and for 5 turns your characters manifests a Hearthstone in place of
your caste mark. This is a level four or five hearthstone with powers appropriate to your character.

Four Magical Materials(***): Spend 3 motes and for 5 turns you will gain the qualities of the Four Magical
materials. For Orichalcum you gain one die equipment bonus and +1 Armor. For Moonsilver you gain doubled range of
hand to hand attacks, and +1 Defense. For Starmetal your gain 9-again to attacks and attackers lose 10-again rule.
For Jade the Stylist gains the toughness of Jade Artifacts, gaining 2 Durability, meaning they subtract first two
successes on attacks made against them.

Soul Fire Shaper(****): Spend 3 motes and for 5 turns you will gain an Essence Score of Ten for mechanical
purposes, not including Essence Prerequisites. This charm also gives a free magic unmaking move once per turn. The
Stylist and the Target roll contested Essence Rolls (Remember Stylist is at 10) and if the stylist wins the target's
magic fails. This only works on non-innate magics. Anima Powers, Shapeshifting, and Blood Buffing, things that are
done with no learning, cannot be stopped.

Prismatic Arrangement of Creation(*****): Spend 2 motes and 1 willpower point for the rest of the scene
you gain doubled initiative. When previous charms in this style are activated after this one than they last
for the rest of the scene.
