Solar Linguistics Charms by FlowsLikeBits

Hundred Zero Index Method

 Cost: 6 motes
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Reflexive
 Minimum Linguistics: 3
 Minimum Essence: 3
 Prerequisite Charms: none

While not as flashy as some other abilitys, the Solar Exalted could find information quickly if the need arose. With this charm, the solar ponders the information they seek and then extends their essence to instantly search a large body language that they understand. After this is done, mystic symbols appear, most of these are symbols stand for "nothing", signifying work of no relation to the exalteds query, while others march through the intergers in ever increasing order, signifying information of progessivly lesser import as the symbols increase. The most important thing is to know what one is searching for, this charm is like the Exalt had read all the material herself and had a perfect memory. She could mentally search through and find the most relevent passages, however this charm is much faster. If exalt does not know what she is searching for, this becomes less useful. Thus, all mentions of "Yu-Shan", in a first-age library could be a very large number, although they would be orderd by how directly they dealt with it. While "All stories of the Solar Blossem during the 100 years preceding the rise of the Scarlet Empress" might be a single sentance in one book among thousands.

There is no limit to amount of information that can be searched with this charm, a single library and single book may be searched equally easily, the only restriction is that knowlege be gathered together somehow, generally in the same building. This charm is not restricd to libraries, in the first age it was often used to deal with buearcracies with suboptimal organization. In fact, the inded generated by this charm stats in the charachers head as a normal memory, they can even write it down if they wish, although something like Whirlwind Brush Method may be required to do so in a reasonably amount of time.

This charm may also be used to search spoken language, although the charachter must still be able to understand the words spoken. In this case, it lasts as long as the essence is commited and gives bonus or penalty reduction when searching for single conversation among a bable of noise, the exact bonus is up to the storyteller and depends on circumstances.

I like this, but it seems more a lore thing to do. I would make it fallow that charm from CB:T that lets you see if written occult knowledge is valid - Dasmen
