Ascending Wood, 768

  • 1st - 28th :
    • Beginning of downtime play?
    • Mettan'Aku begins his (mostly) nocturnal roams through the city, learning it's ins and outs.
    • Yari spends each day thundering about the Unconquered Sun, and hitting his follower.
    • Jocelyn studies in the Albin'Shar Library.
    • Soulban continues to enjoy the luxury of Albin'Shar.
    • Scar begins training a small force of Albin'Shar Citizens for combat (Militia / Guard).
    • Mettan'Aku begins training some citizens in Archery (the best handful of these become the first of the Albin'Shar 'Night Watch').
    • Bizarre murders start to occur.
    • Mettan'Aku begins investigating the murders, but his best lead is a Bloody-Hand Spirit which tells him in order for it to reveal the Murder's Identity, Mettan'Aku must kill Soulban.
    • Mettan'Aku refuses, of course...
    • More and more people start flocking to Albin'Shar - traders (Guild and otherwise), and Diplomats start arriving.
    • Mettan'Aku investigates the Woods for signs of the missing troops and Besk'Atta, to no avail, and begins (clumsily, but better with Scar's help) to establish a friendly relation with the King-Of-The-Wood, who is granted some land within the City, Right to construct a temple, and not too much logging, in return for safe logging and aid when required.
    • The first Diplomatic Envoy is from Great Forks, and is lead by Gentle-Flower, a beautiful God-Blood.
    • Almost arriving at the same time is the Sijanese Envoy.
    • Scar begins assuming command of Albin'Shar (Hooray for The Dawn cast!).
    • Mettan'Aku basically turns up to important functions, but otherwise lets Scar (and the others) handle the day-to-day running of the City.
    • Mettan'Aku discovers that some of the Guild traders have taken Citizens of Albin'Shar as Slaves and immediately decrees (with the rest of the Circle) that the Guild is no longer welcome within the City Walls, no slavery is permitted at all, and any Citizens found enslaved will be freed.
    • The Night Watch (and Mettan'Aku) become a little more secretive and vigilant, patrolling the streets every night and doing their best to maintain the peace (and deliver any needed justice - especially to murderers and slavers...).
    • Yari rejuvenates the City's Temple of the Sun, and begins building a large congregation.
      • I think Yari also teaches self-defense to the Citizenry (not to mention his Follower!).
    • At the Formal Dinner to welcome the Great Forks diplomats, Soulban dies, apparently poisoned - subsequent investigation reveals only that the poison was tailored to Soulban specifically, and was magical in nature.
    • Mettan'Aku is upset again, but this time it starts sending him cold, and he grows a little callous. He takes up Soulban's Daiklave and names it "
