Transitory Ardent Assimilator (Thousand Wounding Gears Style)

vs

Aoshi (Storm Crow Style)

Match rules:

Competitors started 53 yards apart in the cold northern tundra. A few hundred yards away is a small barbarian encampment of yurts. The sky is brooding with dark grey clouds and a slight breeze is swooping south from the Pole of Air, chilling and dangerous.
Full Essence 3 character build (including all Artifacts) allowed.
To the death(ish).

Tick -1

Transitory Ardent Assimilator and Aoshi Join Battle!

TAA gets 6 successes, Aoshi gets 5.

Tick 0

Transitory Ardent Assimilator activates his Optic Shroud and becomes invisible against the grass and clouds. He begins a slow circling movement clockwise and perpendicular to the Sidereal, and remaining wary.

(Speed 3 DV 0, Move 1 yard) (Total Distance: 53 yards)

Tick 1

Aoshi activates Storm Crow Form in preparation for the oncoming onslaught.

(Speed 6 DV -1) (Total Distance: 53 yards)

Tick 2

The invisible Alchemical activates an Array to flurry three golden gyrochakrams at Aoshi. He starts to glow as the giant bladed cogwheels spin towards their target in broad arcs, spitting up snow flurries into the Sidereal's face to confuse and distract her.

Aoshi tries to parry but is caught by surprise with the first attack which slices across her arm, but manages to just barely knock aside the remaining two.

(TAA Speed 4 DV -3) (Aoshi 2HL) (Total Distance: 53 yards)

Tick 14

Hestia, in a display of bravado, turns and moons the Infernal as she activates Light-Treading Technique. This may have been more effective if she had been easier to spot. :)

Tick 18

Tick 19

The Infernal and the Lunar engage in a small amount of smack talk as the Horror Under Lock and Key hides behind an enormous tree. Hestia is unable to spot him so she charges forwards swinging her improvised club from side to side smashing aside everything in her path and calling "Come out, come out, wherever you are!"

(Hestia Speed 3 DV -2, Dash 11 yards) (HULK Speed 3 DV -0, Move 5 yards) (Total Distance: 28 yards)

Tick 22

As Hestia nears him, the Infernal activates The Horror Under Lock and Key SMASH! combo.

But oh no! Hestia activates her Peek-a-Boo! Combo and counterattacks!

There is a moment of green, purple and silver anima flaring carnage and Creation seems to be motionless awaiting the outcome...

Hestia chuckles and continues to Dash away in a glowing streak of prismatic light. The Horror Under Lock and Key roars and follows inexorably.

(HULK Speed 5, DV -1, 12HL) (Hestia Speed 3, DV -2, Dash 13 yards, 21HL) (Total Distance: 0 yards)

Tick 26

(Total Distance: 33 yards)

Tick 27

With a mighty outraged bellow, the Infernal Monster activates his SMASH! Combo again...

The Lunar becomes a smear of fur and bloody paste upon the jungle floor, and most of the surrounding flora.

(Hestia, dead, dead, 38HL!!!)

Tick 28

The Horror Under Lock and Key is declared the Winner!

Postscript

Everything fades to black after a bright green flash. The sound of a crowd roaring with cheers and applause is heard, and as it, too, fades away it discernibly changes to jeers and roars overlaid with deep, booming laughter.

A tall silk robed man reaches through a cage to give a grain of rice to a mop-headed man with blazing green eyes.

"Heh, heh, well done m'boy! Heh! Tonight, you eat! Heh. Victory! Heh!"

Comments from the Peanut Gallery

Well, it was fun to have HULK power up completely. Hestia gave a good accounting of herself, that combo is so good... shame it's borked. Why did Hestia not try throwing her Vajra? I dunno. I don't think her heart was in it, maybe? Trying something new and different? Anyway, it was all over when she ran out of motes for her combo and HULK had enough for one more. :) nikink
