:Hmmm....to me, the only things really broken about the Lunars are the Charm base, which is too complicated and not that cool, and the Limit break, which  is bad for no particularly good reason.  Fiddling with DBT is, in my mind, mostly a way to fiddle with the power level.  IE, if you make the Chamrs very good, you can tune DBT down a little.    I actually don't think Lunars need much changes (besides the Charm base, which would be a fairly large project to do right.  But that's another issue.  BTW, willows, no problem with snark.  -MeiRen

A few quick changes to Lunars. One is a much needed revision of their Limit Breaks. The other one, which I'm not as confident in, is an attempt to change the way DBT works. For the sake of clarity, I call my version of DeadlyBeastmanTransformation Horrible Savage Shape. I like the orginal name better, but I wanted to this version something different.

Lunar Limit Breaks

Ignore everything about Limit Breaks from the Lunar book. Limit Breaks now work roughly the same way they do for Solars: Make up or choose a Virtue Flaw and Limit Break condition. These are identitical to Solar limit breaks, with two exceptions:

-The Chosen Limit Break must be tied to the Lunar's totem. Mouse is a coward, Jackal perfers cleverness to brute force, Monkey is too playful for his own good, and so forth.

-The Lunar's Limit Break is not tied to virtues. Instead, it is tied to the Lunar's Instinct (see below.) If you're not using Instinct, it is tied to a Lunar's Essence. (or use a Virtue.)

Lunar Tell

When considering the visibleness of a Lunar's tell, do not consider how many times a Lunar has taken DBT. Instead, consider a Lunar's Might. So if the book says "A Lunar who has taken DBT three times has a very obvious Tell." read "a Lunar who has Might 3 has a very obvious tell."

Horrible Savage Shape

All Lunars have a Horrible Savage Shape. This works exactly like Deadly Beast-Man Shape, except for the way in which it is bought, and its effects on the tell. By default, a Lunar's Horrible Savage Shape has two bonus Attributes and one bonus Gift.

All Lunars have two new Attributes: Might and Instinct

Each dot of Might purchased gives the Lunar's Horrible Savage Shape three additional dots of Attributes.

Each dot of Instinct purchased gives the Lunar's Horrible Savage Shape one additional Gift.

(optional) A Lunar may not have more dots of Might or Instinct than she has Essence.

(optional) A Lunar's combined dots of Might or Instinct may not go above her (Essence x 2.)

(optional) No limit.

Experience and Character Creation

To taste. Do you consider Lunar's underpowered, and if so, how do you think it should be fixed? Do you want to encourage Lunars to rely on their Horrible Savage Shape, or do you want to encourage Charm devolopment? I present four versions, feel free to fiddle:

High Power: Lunars start with 8 Charms plus Finding the Spirit's shape and two dots to distribute between Might and Instinct. Charms cost 9/11. Might and Instinct cost three freebies or a flat 6 XP.

(More or Less) Current Power: Lunars start with 7 Charms plus Finding the Spirit's shape and two dots to distribute between Might and Instinct. Might and Instinct cost three freebies or a flat 6 XP. Charm costs unchanged.

Powerful Charms: Lunars start with 10 charms plus Finding the Spirit's Shape. Charms cost 9/11. Might and Instinct cost 4 Freebies or a flat 8 XP.

Powerful Savage Shape: Lunars start with 6 Charms plus Finding the Spirit's Shape and three dots to distribute between Might and Instinct. Might and Instinct cost two freebies or 2x current rating XP. Charm costs unchanged.

Thoughts: Some of this depends on what you do with Lunar XP more generally. There's been some serious thought to remaking the Lunar charm trees so they're more powerful, or making the favored Attributes discount more significant. This will presumably effect what you do here.

A reminder: GCG made the Lunar XP costs high so Lunars couldn't become more powerful than Solars with DBT.
