Chi Style

Charms

Speed of Silence</b>

<b>Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min. Martial Arts: 3
Min. Essence: 2

The slowness of the style masks its speed. The exalted is able to use this to its advantage.

Effect: The exalted adds his Martial Arts rating to its initiative.


Chi-Form</b>
<b>Cost: 6 motes
Duration: One scene
Type: Simple
Min. Martial Arts: 3
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Speed of Silence

By making a series of movements and breathing-exercises the exalt becomes completely attuned to the local flows of essence and becomes aware of all movements around him.

Effect: Adds MA rating to both bashing and lethal soak, can block lethal damage without the need of a stunt and all attacks on the exalted are considered frontal. (A successful temperance roll may be asked for activation of this charm) This charm is not compatible with armour. Activation of a different form-charm will end this charm immediately.


Distant Palm Strike</b>
<b>Cost: 4 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Chi-Form

By hardening his anima, the solar can push the air so fast that it becomes a shockwave.

Effect: The exalt is able to make a martial arts attack his essence in yards away. This attack has no physical components.


Chi-Punch</b>
<b>Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 3
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Chi-Form

By focusing his essence into his fist it causes a shockwave upon impact.

Effect: The Solar's attack may only be soaked with natural soak (stamina + enhancements such as Durability of Oak Meditation, Iron Skin Concentration, and Deadly Beastman Transformation etc.). No further armour soak allowed.


Sun's Kiss Technique</b>
<b>Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 4
Prereqs: Chi-Punch, Distant Palm Strike

The exalt has an excellent knowledge of the human essence flow including how to stop it.

Effect: All damage caused by this attack is converted into dice penalty on all further physical and mental actions.

Note: Although no actual damage is caused but the health-levels must still be healed as if damage was caused (bashing).


River's Undertow Technique</b>
<b>Cost: 4 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Chi-Form

The exalt can use the momentum of her opponent's attack against him and send him flying through the air.

Effect: The exalt may use his full MA pool for a single block. If the attack if fully blocked the attacker will fall prone behind the exalt. The distance will be half the difference in successes, in Yards.


Pebble in the Pond</b>
<b>Cost: 4 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: One scene
Type: Simple
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: River's Undertow Technique

Every movement has effect on the flow of essence. The exalt can use this to avoid all hostile movement towards him.

Effect: The exalt may use his full MA pool to block any incoming attack for the rest of the scene. If the attack if fully blocked the attacker will fall prone behind the exalt. The distance will be half the difference in successes, in yards.


Shifting Sand Stance</b>
<b>Cost: 5 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Chi-Form

By changing the direction of his stance and moving his body out of the way of an attack the exalt becomes almost impossible to hit.

Effect: Opponents add the exalts MA rating difficulty to hit.


Unyielding Storm Stance</b>
<b>Cost: 6 motes
Duration: One scene
Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Shifting Sand Stance

By grounding his stance firmly with every step the exalt can move with controlled power.

Effect: the exalt cannot be knocked down for the rest of the scene. When thrown she will always land on her feet.


Stance of Heavenly Vengeance</b>
<b>Cost: 8 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: One scene
Type: Reflexive
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 4
Prereqs: Pebble in the Pond, Unyielding Storm Stance, Sun's Kiss Technique

Any who defies the laws of the Sun shall receive their appropriate punishment. The exalted prepares him to deal the sun's vengeance on all those who oppose him.

Effect: The exalt can make an immediate counterattack against all incoming attacks with her full MA-pool. These counterattacks may only be soaked with natural soak (stamina + enhancements such as Durability of Oak Meditation, Iron Skin Concentration, and Deadly Beastman Transformation etc.). No further armour soak allowed.

Comments

A few things. A) Keep in mind, unless you've got some mystic mojo with this Style that you don't say, it's not exclusively a Solar style. So, invoking the Sun's wrath may not be the best special effect.

B) I really like the River's Undertow Method. :) I'd actually make it one of the beginner Charms- it's not powerful enough to be as deep as it is or have the requirements it does.

C) Stance of Heavenly Vengence is terrifying. You forgot (I hope!) to include the note about not being able to counter attack counterattacks. It is also better than Ready in Eight Directions by quite a bit- scene longs are terrifying and must be used with care. May I suggest that, instead of a standard coutner-attack, that for 5 motes it's only good for a single attempt- but if the attack is blocked, then the Exalt rolls the number of success there were on the attack as well as their full Dex+MA pool? Catching that whole 'use your enemy against himself' thing. And drop the bypasing armor- otherwise you risk obsoleting Chi-Punch.
