First Age Characters

Draft version.

Old Friends, Old Enemies, Old Selves

Hue Yanwen, "Nine Swords Maiden" - Yieng's First Age incarnation

Yanwen was a noted philosopher and swordswoman. During the twilight years of the First Age, she retreated to her Manse on the Lonely Mountain, disgusted by the corruption she saw festering among her brethren and within her own soul. She was slain in single combat by her best friend, Corak Lain.

Corak Lain - a duty-bound First Age Sidereal, chosen of Saturn

Lain was Yanwen's best friend. When they first met, he foresaw their end, and when the Purge came nine hundred years later, it was with great sadness that he climbed the eight thousand steps to the Lonely Mountain Shrine and challenged her, granting his only true love a clean, honorable death.

Zarya Red-Eyes - Fox's First Age incarnation

A renowned explorer, Zarya was driven to travel the length and breadth of Creation in her great airship 'Wanderlust', uncovering new wonders. She mounted several failed attempts to travel to the Moon and stars.

Salchow - a mechanically-minded First Age Sidereal, chosen of Mercury

One of Zarya's two husbands, Salchow was one of the very few Sidereals to be killed in the Solar Purge. A famous artificer, he designed and built Zarya's airship; he also died with it, when it was shot down by the Dragon-Blooded during a desperate attempt to rescue Zarya from their ambush.

Fu-Yan-Su - a foxy First Age Lunar

The second of Zarya's husbands, Fu-Yan-Su was a tricky fox Lunar who enjoyed nothing more than playing elaborate pranks and helping his wife steal the secrets of Gaia and the Gods.

Saushen Lis-Ojen, Queen of the Sunset Isles - Sealis' First Age incarnation

Lis-Ojen was one of the most powerful Solars of the First Age, ruling over her own kingdom in the uttermost West. She clashed with the Solar Deliberative more than once, but was never disciplined since she was the only thing holding back the armies of the Fey Lord Unsar.

Sagian - a brusque First Age Lunar

This stalwart wolf Lunar was Queen Lis-Ojen's husband. The two were staunch allies, but their marriage was completely political; in all their time together, they never shared the same bed. A brilliant battlefield commander, Sagian led Lis-Ojen's troops from the front lines.

Liue val Ceias - Quail's First Age incarnation

A cunning tactician and strategist, Liue was Lis-Ojen's strategos. She was also the Queen's lover, as passionate and caring toward her as she was calculating and ruthless toward her enemies. With Sagian on the battlefield, carrying out her orders as she observed the battle from afar through sorcery, Liue was never defeated.

Lord Unsar - a powerful faerie general

Liue val Ceias and the Fey Lord Unsar were mortal enemies for centuries; eventually, their conflict became something of a game to both of them. When Unsar heard of Liue's death at the hands of the Terrestrial Exalted, he and a thousand of his greatest warriors travelled to her tomb to pay their respects. Lord Unsar himself swore a great oath of vengeance against those who had stolen his only worthy adversary from him; he continues to trouble the Realm's Western holdings to this day.

Takop Sutket - Sapphire's First Age incarnation

Sutket was a member of the Solar Deliberative, though not a particularly prestigious one. Although she performed many great deeds in her day, her political career mainly consisted of petty maneuvering and infighting. Her most disgraceful moment came when she conspired to humiliate the noble Swan Dragon, who had filed complaints about the Deliberative's handling of a dispute in an area under his jurisdiction. By the time the Purge came, Sutket had completely abandoned her once-noble ideals, using her power solely to gratify her lust and avarice.
