Waystones of Danaa'd are not immediately obvious; rather than the towering statues that the others preferred, Govake actually carved streams into the ground, reinforcing them with jade, and then created endless streams of water to send them spinning around the manse's area. The spray thrown up by these streams leaves a perfect image of the Water Dragon hanging in the air around the Manse, and incidentally soaks anyone who steps up to the altars to pray.

Analytical Senses (2 pts): The manse's spray is capable of sifting through the Essence of anyone who steps into the spray cast by the rivers. The statues use these powers to note the presence of any demons, undead, Fair Folk, or Anathema, and to take appropriate action (see below).

Dangerous Traps (2 pts): Whenever the Manse is damaged, its traps immediately spring, attacking those who strike it. The first such trap is that the vines around the pillars immediately fall downwards, cutting off escape. Anyone pushing their way through the vines or standing within a yard of them is attacked (8 dice accuracy, Speed 5, Damage 5L piercing). This can be undone by fighting back; each pillar's vines have the Manse's soak, but only four health levels. In addition, a copy of the wire trap will trigger, except that they are strands of plant instead of wire and sharp brambles instead of swords.

Ultra-Deadly Trap (3 pts): The spray from the fountain is actually a powerful elemental attack, which will target only those that the manse's maker designated enemies of Creation - Celestial Exalts, demons, undead, or Fair Folk. Any being of that sort who steps into the spray is immediately considered to be standing inside an acid bath (as per the core book). In addition, the spray applies a cumulative penalty of -1 die to all actions, and to the target's Move, Dash, and Jump ratings, every time it damages them; this is capable of reducing a target's dice pools to 0. Lost dice are restored at a rate of 1 for every ten seconds that the target spends outside of the mist.

Pasiap's Buried Whiskers (2 pts): The manse can prepare itself for trouble. Its senses extend 400 yards in every direction, and it will react to people who threaten it from that range (although it can do very little if they do not approach).

Well-Flavoured Aspect (1 pt): The mist cast by a Danaa'ds Waystone resonates with the Water Dragon. All Water-aspected Dragon-Bloods gain +1 die to all rolls while they are within the manse's area.

Subtle Breath of Sextes Jylis (1 pt): The gazebo is in tune with the Wood Dragon's gentle side usually, drawing songbirds and friendly animals and pushing away carnivores and insects. Its temperate is usually as warm as a fine spring day, and soft lights glow from the branches even at night.

All Waystones of Danaa'd are equipped with a Stone of Purity, which glitters underwater in the centre of the mist. Anyone attuned to this hearthstone is immune to any disease or poison gained from eating or drinking; even the foulest or most tained substance can be eaten safely.

All Waystones of Sextes Jylis are designed to produce two Hearthstones: a Stone of Shelter and a Stone of the Emerald Rooster (both Oedanol's Codex, page 99). These are held in both hands of whichever statue of Sextes Jylis faces away from the most common entry into the gazebo.

Sextes Jylis' Waystones

Sylenia's final choice of manse architect for the Waystone project was Sesus Ophelia. Ophelia was rumoured to be extremely reluctant to join the project, swearing up and down that it was a vast waste of time and resources. Still, she ultimately took part, becoming as enthusiastic as anyone else. Ophelia was also convinced that someone would try to destroy the Waystone project, and began searching for ways to keep her 'children' safe. This search led her into the city of Denadsor in R.Y. 461, from which she never returned.

Waystones of Sextes Jylis take the form of large gazebos, with vines running up and down their lengths and a simple stone altar in their centres. Each of the five pillars of the manses are designed in the shape of Sextes Jylis, in his human form.

Drawbacks: Habitability 2 (Small and open-air)

Powers:

Pasiap's Buried Whiskers (2 pts): The manse can prepare itself for trouble. Its senses extend 400 yards in every direction, and it will react to people who threaten it from that range (although it can do very little if they do not approach).

Well-Flavoured Aspect (1 pt): The area inside a Waystone of Sextes Jylis resonates with the Wood Dragon. All Wood-aspected Dragon-Bloods gain +1 die to all rolls while they are within the manse's area.
