Fire of the Moon was forged in the first age by a mighty Solar smith to give to his wife, both their names lost to time. He wanted something that was both a great weapon, and fill her with some of the courage that was carried by her Full Moon bretheren. Unable to work the metal on his own he went on a quest in search of a stone spoken of only in legends, the Moonstone. The Moonstone was said to be great misshapen stone, lodged in the earth somewhere in the frozen earth and burning with silver fire. It was said anything could be worked and shaped in the fires of the stone. He gathered the material to make the weapon and then left. No one heard from him for a year and a day, when he returned suddenly from the wilderness with a Grand Daiklaive carried in his arms. Of how he worked it he never said.

This great blade has a slight curve to it, all of it being one whole forged piece. The hilt, crossgaurd, blade all are joined perfectly so as to be one complete piece. The hilt has no leathers or such to provide grip, yet the wielder will find they can hold it as easily as any weapon. Just above the crossgaurd and a foot higher from that are the two hearthstone sockets in the blade. Surrounding them and working up the length of the blade is inscribed the marriage oath between the two exalted.

Sadly their marriage was not blessed to last, much like many of that age and when the Ursurpation began she left with her own kind and abandoned her mate to the swords and fires of rebellion. She died in the contagion, and the sword has passed from hand to hand many times in the years since then, perhaps because it has not found the one it was meant for, perhaps because those who wielded it did not have the wisdom to handle the courage and fire it filled them with.

When attuned the owner suffers no wound penalty and gains +2 to his valor. This may allow it to exceed the normal limit of 5.

The weapon may also parry a number of attacks equal to the owners essence per combat. These parries take no actions and are done at the users full dice pool.

The stats do not include the magical material bonus.
