There has been a lot of discussion about extra Ability requirements for some Charms (especially Martial Arts Charms), and it seems time to develop a listing of such Charms and the recommended additional requirements.

Note that Martial Arts, which cross the boundrary of Exalt type, are grouped together.

For each such charm, please set up a new sub-page. /WallClimbingTechnique can be used as a template.

If you believe that a tree should have secondrary Ability requirements instead of the individual Charms in the tree, you can set up a page such as /EbonShadow.

Sidereal Level Martial Arts

Celestial Level Martial Arts

Terrestrial Level Martial Arts

Solar Charms

Abyssal Charms

Lunar Charms

Sidereal Charms

Dragon Blooded Charms

I know not everyone thinks that Charms require a second Ability requirement. The primary argument is that it is not required for game balance - as the Charm will generally require a roll on the second Ability to fail or succeed. I personally feel that this is more a consistency issue, i.e. "you would have learned the secondrary ability along the way" ... and that there are as many Charms that do not require the secondrary ability to be rolled as there are Charms that do. ^_^ -- BrokenShade

I don't agree. Requiring these secondary abilities is a little silly. While I see your point (that's a much more balanced approach than making them actual prerequisites for the charm), typically, the bonii given from the MA charms are not large enough to warrent such a necessity. There are several reasons why I don't see this your way, the most important being that the styles that allow you to use non-MA weapons don't reqire you to have a certian Melee score to wield them. You've also got to think that MA styles are usually chosen by people with the style in mind to enhance their character. A Dawn who jumps into the forefront of battle isn't going to buy either Ebon Shadow or Wood Style. An MA style should ALWAYS fit the character, not just because it's cool. -- Jydan

Under 2e rules, this might best be represented by giving the base charm(s) in a style a Prerequisite of "Any (Ability) Excellency". - Quendalon
