Description

Salna is a lean man around 5 foot 9 inches with blond hair and blue eyes, he has a slightly scholarly air to him. He regularly changes his clothing to suit both his mood and his situation. He looks as though he could fit in anywhere he goes.

He is a polite and respectful man, very easy going and likeable, but with an air of danger that would make most people think long and hard before trying to upset him. His biggest love is for the sea, he spends any spare time he has either on or around the sea, it is both his job and his hobby.

History

Salna was born into a small and poor family (for a Dynastic family), their Estate lies a few miles to the north of Arjuf, it is a fairly small agricultural estate with a lake on the edges of it. The family was once a large and wealthy branch of House Iselsi, but with the downfall of the House, their fortunes have diminished and they have been forced to take on the name of House Pelleps. Salna has 2 sisters, the eldest Kestra is also a water aspected Dragon Blood and the youngest Lenna, who is still in her early years. His mothers name is Shauna, she is an unexalted member of House Pelleps. Salna’s father is Quasan, originally he was a member of House Iselsi, but has now taken on the name of Pelleps.

Salna’s grandfather Iselsi Tabar Boa was a great Naval Admiral in the South (Fire) Fleet, but many years ago it is believed he came to a tragic and inglorious end. He took a squadron of vessels including a First Age warship, out into the Southern Ocean in pursuit of a band of pirates. The pirates were a well-known terror, comprising of at least 3 anathema and some renegade Dragon Blooded.

Perhaps the truth of what happened on the fateful day that the squadron met the pirates in combat will never be known, but of the 20 ships that left Arjuf only 7 ships returned. A member of the 7 greatest houses captained each of the ships, there was a House Pelleps, Ledaal, Cathak, Cynis, Memnon and Tepet. They claimed that Tabar’s plans had gone disastrously wrong, the squadron had been taken completely by surprise and that those 7 ships were the only survivors. This along with the fading fortunes of House Iselsi sealed the fate of the Boa family line.

Over the years there have been many rumours based around what had happened to the remaining ships and their crews, particularly the First Age Flagship ‘The Ardent’, no body really knows what became of them, but many sailors have ended their lives on the fruitless search. One particular rumour was that Tabar won the engagement and made it back to shore, hiding both his ship and the treasure. Certainly that is what Quasan believes, and has been overheard saying by his children. Speculation about this is further fuelled by the fact that there is an entire wing of the house that only the elders of the family are aloud to enter. Salna found both his Armour and his Daiklave hidden within one of the rooms at the lakes’ marina, according to his researches they were the very same artefacts that Tabor always took with him when he went out to sea.
