#REDIRECT [[DarkheartOne/IdeaDump]]
I can save and I can slay

I can build a wall, I can tear it away

I am within you, I am outside you

Above your head and beneath your feet

I am what the rooted ones seek for

I make a beautiful fall complete

Within me, there is a treasure

No mortal mind can can understand

So, seek through me unceasingly

And grasp my bounty in your hand

The fact that the Lintha are selling the maps and notes (at a hilariously hefty price) has most people worried to begin with.

But, nonetheless, people are buying into this little deal that most folks have figured is just another Lintha scam. Only the crazy, the greedy, and the strange have taken to the task, and the tales of their horrible failures float through pubs all along the port towns of the West; the fortunate ones merely die quickly and brutally.

Still, they try, and they seek... and one man in particular has gone so far as to purchase the services of a Lintha vessel in order to speed his search for the so-called 'First and Final Treasure' laying somewhere within the Western oceans. All he needs now is a little helping hand from those of Essence and glory to ensure his total success. Surely, with the aide of Exalts, he cannot fail!

... right?

== Game Aim and All That Metagame Nonsense ==

Westward! exists for one purpose, and one purpose alone: it's dawned on me that I've seen alot of EPIC games, with world-shattering possibilities... and I really felt the need (not from myself, but from others!) for a good, old-fashioned <nowiki>questing heroes/adventure</nowiki>-type game. So... I thought about what would be the most interesting place to do that sort of thing... and lo and befuckinghold... the West! That place people tend to ignore, yeah, with the water and the thing. The world needs a good Treasure Hunt To End All Treasure Hunts. And this... aims to be it.

;*Allowed PC Types - [This Space Intentionally Left Blank]:Talk to me. Negotiate. If I think a base idea can work AND is awesome, I'll ask for a profile.

;*Chargen Layout - Base Build + 300 XP:Power Combat, Sol Invictus rules, additional alterations and house rules coming soon.

;*Starting Location - Beautiful An-Teng!:Either in Steel Lotus or the Dragon's port thingie. Yes, this'll make getting in a bit harrowing, depending on how you arrive, and the 'intro' chapter of the game'll take place in the general area. After all, it can't all be sailing.

;*DH's Happy Suggestion - Location Matters:This is going to be taking place pretty much entirely in the West, so choose goodies accordingly. Having a dot or two of Sail wouldn't hurt. Understand that having allies and suchlike resources that aren't nearby or in the West might nullify their usefulness, barring Essence-related awesomeness.

;*DH's Happy Suggestion Mk. II - Experience:Be warned! XP gain will not be high and hard, although it will be assigned on a per-session basis, as I always do. Training times will be shortened some, since there'll be some travel time and all. More on this later.

;*DH's Happy Suggestion Mk. III - PCs, Play Areas and Foo:PC limits! I... don't want to go higher than 4 or 5. I can accept six, but no more than that. Also, this'll likely be played on OpenRPG... and stuff. Yes. Neat XP bonuseseseses will be given out for various things that I'm not going to get into here. Figure that outcherself. You leeches.

;*DH's Happy Suggestion Mk. IV - PC Type Preferences:As noted before, try me with ideas! But do take into account that I can handle an amoral bastard with a core of gold, but outrightly evil-types just ain't gonna work out. It's gonna be fun figuring out who can and cannot be trusted, but the line between light and dark'll be pretty neatly defined... with room for some gray areas, of course.

;*DH's Happy Suggestion Mk. V - Game Tone:You all know me by now. I have an... ah... odd sense of humor. And while this will be GLORIOUS, DANGEROUS, ULTRA-SEXY ADVENTURE ADVENTURE ADVENTURE, the general tone of the game will be not very dreary. The dangers of the Abyssals, the imminent collapse of the Realm, and all that icky angst-making stuff is, for the most part, a distant flicker on the blue horizon. Not that the West doesn't have its own problems. Nonetheless, bring your spirit of adventure... and a healthy dose of twisted life-in-the-West humor. ("Fuckin' fish! Fish in the mornin', fish at noon, fish at night! I wan' some godsdamm'd beef!" "Here, try this here. It's got the heft of beef right." "Whazzit tas' like?" "Fish." "Fucker!")
