That the Gods were helpless and bound slaves to the Primordials was no great secret during the Time of Glory that preceeded the uprising of the Gods.  Many of those races of mortals who existed during those early years suffered under the cruel whims of the Primordials.  With the Gods closer and less cruel they naturally turned to worshipping them in actual devotion instead of the fearful words they offered up to the Primordials in Yu-Shan.  The Dragonkings were one such race who worshipped the Unconquered Sun and they too suffered cruelties at the Ebon Dragon's hands while their patron remained helpless to intervene.

Artifact ••••• or maybe NA.

Their wisest and strongest set to forging a grand weapon that a champion might wield to strike down that monster. A spear of holy Obsidian and Orichalcum. A work of wonderous craftwork, during its entire construction a round the clock vigil of priests chanted holy scripture, chanting until they dropped dead onto for another to replace. Empowered with their sacrifice and the best works of the Dragonkings they eventually finished their weapon to present to their Champion.

They had made a mistake in their making though. They assumed that the Gods simply lacked the weapons to rise up and face them not realizing how fully they could not through a great Geas. Still when the weapon was refused by the Unconquered Sun and he revealed the nature of why he did not fight the Primordials they did not despair. Instead their greatest champion went to try and face down the Ebon Dragon alone. Though the spirit of the Dragonking was never in doubt neither was the result of the battle. He was slain and the Ebon Dragon had Oramus cast the weapon into the Outer Maze to be lost forever.

The loss of that weapon made with such devotion and with such hopes greated on the immortal memories of the Dragonkings and the perfect memory of the Unconquered Sun. Both thought the weapon would be lost forever. In time the Primordial War came and the Dragonkings went to war alongside the Exalted. One Twilight, a woman of the west who had grown up serving under the Mosok, he knew the old stories. One of the greatest Dawns of the Exalted host had allready vanished and not the Maidens nor anyone could locate that warrior. Knowing that the Dawn had been leading a strike against Oramus the Twilight who was known as Quin was sure that this was the Outer Maze at work. So she went to face Oramus alone and soon enough was trapped in the Outer Maze as well.

What happened there was never spoken of. In the end though the Twilight came out with both the Dawn and the Shadow Banishing Spear Kursirel. Oramus never used the Outer Maze again in the war. Amongst many of the famous deeds performed by Quin, who became known as Quin of the Pure Light, was the ending of the 200 years of night that the Ebon Dragon had brought, the binding of Erembour to 3 favors one of which lead to the capture of the Ebon Dragon's fetich which forced his compliance with the surrender.

The Ebon Dragon never forgot about it though he was eventually able to maneuver the weapon into a position that he believed would never see it used against him ever again. During the time between the first and second Deliberative, he traded services in exchange for the weapon to be burried in one of the Solar tombs in Rathess. There he was sure it would remain forever as both Dragonking and Exalt were both too pious to loot the sacred dead for it.

Now in the Second Age perhaps he is wrong. The Dragonkings can remember the weapon. Certain of the Gods and the Maidens do too. Perhaps pragmatism will win out over reverence and the weapon will once more shine its light and scatter his shadows.

The weapon is impressive. Seven feet in length for a haft and another 3 with a wave style blade at the head of it. The weapon made of carved Orichalcum and Obsidian, warm to the touch and eternally shining. Naturally when used as a weapon against Creatures of Darkness its attacks count as Holy and deal aggravated damage but even more deadly against any demon descended from the Ebon Dragon their perfect defenses all gain his Greater and Lesser Imperfections.

The weapon's second great power is that the light it eternally shines with always banishes the darkness. Against any darkness or blinding effect the weapon rolls off against it as if it were the Unconquered Sun. Even those who have lost their eyes or been blind for years will be restored to sight.

Finally this light is shines for all purposes counts as sunlight from the Daystar and all those within the light's impressive reach enjoy a mote regeneration as if they were resting no matter the realm they are in.

It was known that the Akuma of the Ebon Dragon suffered the full effects of this weapon as his souls did rendering them increadibly vulnerable to it. In this new age it remains to be seen weather those Green Sun Princes who possess his charms suffer the same way too.
