Arch-Angel Combo Charms

Inertial Dampening Array
Instilation Cost: 1
Cost: 2 or 3 motes
Type: Simple
Duration: One Scene/Special
Minimum Dex: 3
Minimum Essense: 2
Prerequisite Charms: (Either) augmentation of Stamina
Twin Rods of Blude jade embedded with Orichalcum circutry are implanted into each shoulder of the Exalt. These are used to help lower the hold gravity has upon the Alchemical while in motion. When activated the Charm will double jumping distance, both horizontally and vertically and running speed running speed. For the additional cost of 1 mote, the user may now run on vertical surfaces and ceilings for as if firmly on the ground, but must maintain motion to remain on them, if the Exalt were to stop, gravity would once again take hold, causing them to fall, and if high enough, cause injury.

Flight-Enabling Upgrade
Instillation Cost: 2
Cost: none
Type: Permanant
Duration: Permanent
Minimum Stamina: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Inertial Dampening Array
The appearance of the upgrade varies between Exalts who may chose to have them modeled in any way they wish, though many chose to emulate wings found on birds or bats in creation, though mechanical. The "wings" provide the user with stamina hours of flight before resting 30 minutes per hour spent flying or the spending of 3 motes to recover 1 hours immediatly. Flight speed is 2 times running speed, or may be used at 4 times running speed but the time spent in flight this was doubles against the limit (thus 4x speed for 10 minutes, counts as 20 minutes of normal flight). For the commitment cost of 4 motes the wings may be "sheathed" to hide them from the sight of others. The wings may be sheathed in any manner desired (decide once when taking charm), but there must be telltale signs of the Charm, whether through slots, bars, glyphs or other such items that point to something more than what is visible being hidden there. With use in disguise arrays the upgrade may be hidden as somthing less apparent, such as a cloak, without paying the commitment cost though oddly shaped and still likely to draw some attention.

Shard Attack Discharge Package
Installation cost: 1
Cost: 4 motes
Type: Supplemental
Duration: Instant
Minimum Dex: 3
Minimum Essense: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Organic Flight Simulator
Built into the Organic Flight Simulation Array, is a special defense system akin to the Protosynthetic Ammunition Replicator, using either basic kinetic movement or a gas propulsion system that attacks with a hail of metal at a target. Stats are +2 spd, +0 acc, +2L dmg, rate is equal to essence, range is equal to essence x 5. Magical Material bonuses apply.

Comments

Nice ideas, I've been wanting to do something wing-based for a while but never got around to it. I have several suggestions for this set though. Firstly, these charms need Types - I would suggest Simple for the first (inertial wossname), Permanant for the second(wings) (or Simple, possibly, for extruding/retracting wings) and... Supplemental for the third(attack charm).

However, even after that's added, I've got some reservations. Why, exactly, are you redefining a charm with the inertial dampening array? the Personal Gravity Manipulation Apparatus already does everything that this charm does, with only a slightly different flavour. Not related to that, but if you dampened movement, you'd (technically) make it wet, but even with the weird redefinition of dampening which is slowly making its way into the language, I assume a dampening system -reduces- something, in this case movement. Inertial Damping would indeed reduce the time/effort to took to accelerate, and would probably provide a speed boost, I am simply questioning the 'dampening fields for movement' line, perhaps it could be worded less confusingly? Finally for this charm, I see that there's a slightly different feel, I just don't think it's different -enough- to justify an entire new charm. You could easily make it a submodule of the PGMA apparatus though, which would give you the different effects you're describing, probably Reflexively, and for less time... maybe, Essence turns of speeded movement, or Special(until you fall off cause you stopped moving) for the wallrun. I would also suggest if you're doing that (which I'm in favour of, obviously) that you make the reflexive mode granted by the submodule be explicitly comboable despite its non-instant duration.

Organic Flight Simulator - a very nice charm concept, name is a bit... meh, I dunno. I don't want to criticize a perfectly workable name, it just reminds me of a flight-sim game rather than immediately making me think techno-wings. Dragons in Exalted don't (usually) have wings, by the way. Mechanics are good, but I'm not sure about the willpower cost for more flight... it's limits it nicely, yes, but it seems if anything -too- limiting for what you get. I'd suggest that perhaps 5m an hour would be a more acceptable instant-recharge option, but it's up to you. The power level of the charm is strange also. The charm after it is listed as Essence 2, which is slightly illogical, but I would suggest it would make a better tree if the attack were essence 3, and the wings themselves essence 2. Lunar wings can fly at around 50 yards per turn in combat (through calculation) which is far, far less than running * 5. Running * 5 in general is really, really fast, and ends up at around 75 yards per turn using conservative estimates (running being 12+Dex, dex being 3. A non-conservative estimate would be 175 yards per turn). a mph speed is also always appreciated for movement based charms. If you're going to equal the lunars wings (suggested) then mph will be 35. The reason I heavily suggest you reduce your flight speed is that even Eagle Wing Style, the solar flight charm in castebook night, has pre-reqs of Athletics 5, Essence 3, a lot more charm-prereqs and only gives you triple sprinting speed. It's not as far as I know viewed to be too unbalanced (although it has a weird downside, admittedly) so I'm using it as a base for comparing flight in general to.

Finally, perhaps you should allow players more choice in the appearance of their wings. At present, they're limited to organic replicas of wings which, although cool, are hardly the full set of possible flight-enablers. For example, wheras an orichalcum caste would almost certainly have gigantic gold-shining wings similar to that of an eagle, or possibly a web of energy focussed into wing-shapes by a set of golden poles+crystals, other exalts might have different tastes. Perhaps the moonsilver caste would prefer a spinning array of fluid moonsilver to give a helicopter like propulsion system, or the starmetal caste would like to be bourne aloft by counter-rotating concentric circles that just happen to negate gravity in a wing-like way. Jade-caste would probably have some sort of solid-looking crystalline mini-wing, with an essence-effect protruding outwards, or maybe just very mechanical looking wings broken into segments. As for soulsteel, I'd assume the standard bat-wing layout, but who can say. Anyway, what I was suggesting is not to limit people to organic replicas of normal wings - with more choice, it seems more fun, even if it functions exactly the same. Probably would have to think up a different name for it though.

-- Darloth hopes you don't take this big block of critique the wrong way - I like your charms and ideas, I'm just trying to help you improve them to (what I consider to) be better.

Thanks for the much awesome feedback, I really do appreciate it. I anticipated a number of flaws actually, these charms were really only thrown together in only a few moments without fell thought, just needed to get the idea down before I forgot it.
So lets break it down:

The Inertial Dampening Array, its supposed to act as a medium between both the Personal Gravity Manipulation Apparatus, and Prabolic Leap Over Charger, with only half the effect of each in one single charm, so you have the ability to run along walls and the celing, but cannot use it to lower your weight to run on fragile surfaces, and you can increase jumping ability without the ability to levitate. I changed the charm type as you suggested and edited the wording, hope that helps.

The Organic Flight Simulator really wasnt the best name so its been changed, and editing to the charm has been made, I opted for 2x running speed, so its faster than foot speed, and a choice to increase speed to 4x, but for the limitation of causing you to have to stop sooner.

Thanks again, constructive criticism is always welcome - ArabianNinja

Still havn't got Durations in there. I'll add fields and put in my suggestions, and you can then edit them to be whichever you prefer.
