Alternate Jade Effects

Jade doesn't get enough loving...

What if different flavours of Jade got different statistical effects based on the elemental attunement?

Terrestrials get to attune wrong colour jade at +1 mote instead of the usual double cost. The Lore check to harmonize the wrong element is at simple difficulty (Diff:1) for Terrestrials as all Jade is elemental in nature, even if it's the wrong element.

Melee Weapons

  • Black Jade gets +1 Accuracy, +1 Defense, -1 Damage (Water is absorptive and fluid; but is not solid enough to deliver cutting blows)
  • Blue Jade gets +6 Speed, -1 Accuracy (Air blows where it will, it is wild and uncontrolled, but swift beyond all other elements)
  • Green Jade gets +1 Defense (Wood is the nurturing element)
  • Red Jade gets +3 Speed, +1 Damage, -1 Defense (Fire symbolizes destruction; but defends only through destruction)
  • White Jade gets +1 Damage, +1 Defense, -3 Speed (Earth is symbolic of stability and mass)

Armour

  • Black Jade gets +3B as the armour channels the shock of impact around the wearer.
  • Blue Jade reduces the mobility and fatigue ratings by 1 each as the armour is unusually light and unrestricting.
  • Green Jade gets +1B and reduces the attunement cost by 1/3 (round attunement cost up, minimum reduction of 1 mote)
  • Red Jade is statistically the same as Blue Jade...
  • White Jade gets +1L/+1B and reduces the fatigue rating of the armour by 1 as it fortifies the wearer with the endurance of the earth .

Yeah, I know this will be lots of work, but it goes hand-in-hand with my Storyteller's Companion-style Terrestrials project. -- JadeSerpent
