Sub-Cuticular Retractable Spikes

Cost: 2 motes

Duration: Indefinite
Type: Simple
Min. Manipulation: 1

This Charm installs short retractable claws or spikes under the Alchemical's fingernails and toenails. When extended, they allow the Exalted to do Lethal damage while unarmed, using the Brawl or Martial Arts abilities. In addition, the Alchemical may subtract 2 from the difficulty of any climbing-related Athletics rolls. However, the bulky claws add 1 to the difficulty of any Dexterity rolls involving fine manipulation while they are extended.

Sub-Cuticular Retractable Blades

Cost: 4 motes
Installation Cost: 1 mote
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Min. Manipulation: 2
Min. Essence: 1
Prereqs: Sub-Cuticular Retractable Spikes

This Charm lengthens the claws under the Alchemical's fingernails into deadly slashing blades about four inches long. When the blades are extended, the Exalt may make unarmed attacks using Brawl or Martial Arts. The blades are Spd +3, Acc +1, Dmg +2L, Pry +1. The length of the blades adds 2 to the difficulty of any Dexterity rolls involving fine manipulation while they are extended.

Glorious Retractable Blades

Cost: 4 motes, 1 WP
Installation Cost: 1 mote
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Min. Manipulation: 3
Min. Essence: 2
Prereqs: Sub-Cuticular Retractable Blades

This Charm replaces the Sub-Cuticular Retractable Blades with blades made from the Alchemical's Magical Material. She may use them to make unarmed attacks using Brawl or Martial Arts. The blades are Spd +3, Acc +1, Dmg +2L, Pry +1, plus the attunement bonus of the Magical Material. The blades still add 2 to the difficulty of Dexterity rolls involving fine manipulation while extended.

Comments

I put these under Manipulation as they involve manipulation of the Alchemical's body. I suppose there is a case to be made for Dexterity, but the given alchemical Dex charms seem to be focused on speed of movement, which these don't really fit. I modeled them off of the similar Lunar charms, and have probably erred on the side of caution in terms of power. Th' names are lame, I know. -Davidl
