Ragara Jinel
It was her birthday the day Ragara Ladal held her newly eighth born child, he was a fine healthy young boy. Ragara Ladal had long thought about her eight born child, long before he was even conceived. You see eight was her favourite number, and while not particularly superstitious she had a good feeling about his child. She had long ago decided that her eight born, if a son would be named after her powerful and respected grandfather, Ragara Jinel, part of a direct bloodline from Ragara himself and hence from the empress. So it was that young Ragara Jinel was born into creation on the first day of Resplendent Earth in the Imperial year 747 in the grandiose surrounds of The Imperial City.
During his younger formative the young Ragara Jinel found himself being schooled by his grandfather the elder Ragara Jinel. Young Jinel was trained, as all dynastic children are, hunting, riding, games, social skills and lore. Lore was perhaps one of Jinel’s favourite topics. He enjoyed learning the language of the commoners and reading from the Immaculate Scriptures, perhaps a little too much for his families liking. His grandfather tried to steer him from this path, while it would not be a disaster if the young Ragaran where join the order, his family wished for him to move into the house trade of Banking. It was not to be however. Despite showing talents that would have led to the young Ragaran becoming a fine auditor for the great banking house, the young boys heart always led him back to the Immaculate Texts that he so believed in.
So it can to be in the year of 756 Ragara Jinel, at the slight behest of his family, but with their blessing none the less, left home to become a student at the Order sponsored primary school “The Academy for Those Who Walk the Blessed Path of Pasiap”. It was here that Ragara Jinel thrived and made his first true friend, Peleps Deham Greel. Life at the Preparatory was gruelling but bearable, the regimes for the purification of ones spirit where intensive but Jinel loved it, every day in his mind he drew closer to the perfection of the Dragons. The day of Jinel’s Exaltation was on the 16th of Descending Water in the year 761 and like all other Dynastic Dragon Blooded was separated from the mortal students while he adjusted to his new stature as a Prince of the Earth. Sadly however Peleps Greel was not chosen by the dragons for exaltation, and later in life when Jinel was far to the south performing his immaculate duties Peleps Deham Greel was to fall to the embrace of the vile Anathema and become one of the Blasphemous. During his final year of Primary School 762, Jinel received his pre-emptive acceptance into the Cloister of Wisdom. The next five years of Jinel’s life progressed much as that of many a postulants has, in a haze of hallucinogenic dugs and regimes to hone their skills in the manipulation of essence. Jinel then began to walk the path of the mighty earth dragon Pasiap, while rounding his skills in other areas that would serve him as monk of the Immaculate Order. After many years of training, on his 20th birthday Old Ragara Jinel came to visit his grandson at the Cloister. He carried with him some great gifts of power for his young Immaculate descendant, the mighty Tetsubo “Clenched Fist of the Dragons Might” and the armour “Pasiap’s Adamantine Scales”. However he also came with a task, the young Jinel was to travel into the southern Threshold to a city named Rakset in order to promote both the Immaculate Order and to further house Ragara’s interests in the south.
